First half definitely, could have been 3 or 4 down. second half, I think we contained them quite well.. we did struggle to get our passes off, but we defended well.. We did get away with one there that’s for sure.. but hey ho.. hope we can do the same against Ipswich
Sounds like a predictably unpredictable performance But well done lads and Nige 3 more valuable points But let’s not kid ourselves We’re miles off being true contenders
We were poor today, but got 3 points, and a home win.How many times have teams done that to us. We set up with 3 central defenders to start Dickie, king and Pring. We looked like we didn’t have a clue and could have easily been at least 2 or 3 down. When knight came on we went to a back 4 and became much tighter. Second half was closer, we just about saw it out and managed to claim a very fortunate 3 points. The one thing I would say, every player put in one hell of a shift, and we were unfortunate with injuries so had to do the best we could with what we had. We’ll done lads.
Nige is getting pretty 'irritated' - 'why don't you ask someone above these questions ' etc etc. SL is pissy tonight - Fleetwood Madrid played their part of the plan.
stephenlansdown- JonLansdown just come in after going to gym to read and listen to NigelGPearson and his future. Can I just say as fan going back to our Alan Dicks days this is by far the best manager this club has had.He has done everything you have asked on a budget-fans want him to stay Millions wasted on cheap inexperienced managers-Millions wasted on poor players. Nige is the right man for job-Deserves a new contract -if you are selling the club then let him and us supporters now.
SL needs to let Nige and us fans now what is going on. Crazy situation best manager in decades and Lansdown is pissing about.
Maybe NP should let the performances and league finishes do the talking for him. So far, why would SL be falling over to give him a new contract? Deliver a top 10 finish, then SL has a big decision to make.
I’m not too sure who else that’s available & currently better than Nige to manage us at this time.. he’s here and doing a decent job, I quite like the way and what he’s building, especially with bringing through players from the academy.. Consistency on the field has been an issue, today we got lucky and v Stoke we threw 3 points away.. Nige might be irritated from above but we the fans get irritated by some of the performances.. it is a results game so it does need to improve to impress those above..Nige’s appointment was to do just that.. progress was the aim.. Some can keep moaning regarding funds but we all know it’s not Nige’s style.. I do believe as a club we need stability, we’re in a decent position, we should at the very least be in discussions regarding his contract.. Maybe it should be offered under the condition that any threat of relegation it can become void.. if that’s possible.
I like realism, sometimes over the years we've disagreed but with your post I am totally in line with your thinking, SL loves yes men, Cotts was sacked because he didn't comply, Nige is going the same way, he tolt Jnr to do one and won't comply, Coppell did a runner, it's obvious SL is the blocker, Dallas we have a problem,
Spot on, definitely reminds me of the Cotts situation, people say we were heading for relegation, of course we were when just like NP now he was forced into a situation where he didn’t have the backing, there’s only ever going to be one winner and that isn’t the manager. The big difference with NP is he’s being successful even without SL’s backing, SL likes yes men, Cotts wasn’t and NP isn’t either, the way NP keeps saying “ask someone above me”, without actually saying his name he’s calling out SL, that will go down like a lead balloon. He’s affectively saying back me or sack me. It isn’t going to end well, as it will be the latter, but unlike with Cotts it will show SL for what he is & he won’t like that one little bit. I do thing as a fan base if we want NP we really have to find some way of backing him, I’m just not sure we’ll be listened to.it’ll be another case of it’s my club I can do what I like. Very sad..
