    yes.

No doubt we'll see the spineless FA letting him off the hook and banning him for only 3 matches.

Unless the FA comes down hard on those incidents they will continue and people like you will keep on triviliasing them. The FA will only have themselves to blame. Actions speak louder than words.

That's rich! One dickhead advising another!! No wonder the country's in the mess that it is.

Schofield you have proved your ability to abuse via "sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." to accuse others of it is arrogant hypocracy

Smith, what gives you the right to talk for ALL black people?

He wasn't abusing him because he was black. He was winding him up because Evra couldn't get anywhere near him during the whole game. It's a bit of banter between players.

If someone get's abused because they are black - then yes they should be fined/banned what ever. If someone is abused because they are crap (in this case) and it just happens to be black then it's a bit of banter. I hope common sense prevails otherwise people will be scared to say anything to any black person for fear of being accused of being racist.

I just think its shows up United to a tee

Evra is called negrito on a regular basis by his teammates, that ISNT offensive, and Hernandez has called his teammates Negrito for years and THAT isnt offensive

Suarez uses the EXACT SAME phrase during a match and this IS deemed offensive.I AM VERY VERY VERY VERY CONFUSED????????????????????????????????????????

Nothin to do with Suarez tearing United's defense a "new one" in the last 2 games.

Its astonishing we are still talkin about this, it shudda been dropped weeks ago

If they let him off the hook, why would they still ban him? For using abusive language to an opponent? In which case, ban 8 or 9 players out of every team every weekend.

You're generalising far too much in response to people on here. You take a specific comment made about Evra by another poster and turn it into a slur against the entire black race. 'Evra' is not synonymous with 'black people', so don't misconstrue peoples' comments to that end, and maybe you'll get less aggressive responses.

You certainly are confused, seeming as nobody on here knows the phrase that has been used (apart from you obviously).

How do you know the EXACT SAME phrase has been used ??

Look at it this way. He knows that Hernandez calls him "negrito" affectionately. Hernandez has never been charged with racism nor has Evra ever tried to accuse him of it. Somehow, Suarez knows this, be it through South American media or through speaking to each other. What does that tell you? To me, a (hopefully) reasonable man it says that Evra does not find it RACIST. Hernandez is Mexican. Evra is French. If Evra accepts a Latino man calling a black man "negrito" then he can not find it a racist term.

Now back to Suarez. In Uruguay and the rest of South America "negrito" is never used insultingly. It's as Hernandez, Suarez and the Spanish speaking world have described it, a word of affection. It is therefore illogical to interpret his action as RACIST. In this circumstance, it may have been offensive to Evra as they are not friends but certainly there was no intent to offend him on basis of race.

As such, the FA can not charge him with racism as there was no racist intent.

It's quite well known and the Guardian have reported that was the word used. This is backed up by the fact that the Uruquayan embassy will be part of the trial to clear up the semantics issue http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/nov/17/uruguay-embassy-liverpool-luis-suarez

Apologies for the double post but here's an analogy.

Imagine if you went to South Africa. A young lad in a pick up game had been irritating you all day and you called him over, and told him along the lines of "look here, calm down boy".

In English speaking countries "boy" is even used as a term of endearment but in South Africa it is considered racist. Would you support it if you were charged with RACISM? You didn't mean to offend him based on race nor did you know its racist connotations.

Perhaps you would understand the lad taking offense at the word but you certainly wouldn't have the intent required to be charged. Would you defend yourself in this case?

Do you believe everything you read in the paper Red ?

I'm not saying that's not what he has said but comments live it's 'showing United up to a tee' when we aren't sure what has been just pisses me off.

Most United fans on here, as you will know, haven't been calling Suarez a racist ( apart from 1 or 2 ) but there's been plenty of Liverpool fans critising United for this. Anyone would think it's one of our players who have been charged.

I hope he hasn't been racist but I'd prefer to let the FA sort it out.

Good spot Lucaaas, apparently if Suarez would have asked him to 'suck his motherfucking cock' he would'nt have been offended.

But surprisingly the word that offends him so much rolled of his tongue with ease.
