I mentioned being eased in because mick did and I'm fully aware it's standard. I think I've made my position on Tonali clear I don't know why I'm being bullied into changing it because I don't really care if people have the opposite view. Only time will tell.
I think a 1 year ban would be manageable.. By then Bruno could well be heading abroad (for £100+m) and I think the club see Tonali as his long term replacement. It would provide plenty of FFP leeway to strengthen other areas. Yes we'll miss him short term, mainly due to needing squad depth for the number of fixtures we have, along with any injuries and likely suspensions. But we coped fine without him last season, so it's not a showstopper (barring any major injuries).
If Willock and Joelinton return soon, we'll be fine. Tonali has looked great in some games, creative wise and defensively, but it's probably going to take a season before we see the best of him,
Be interesting to see if he'll be allowed to train or how long he's barred from training for. Toney got 8 months and was suspended from training for 4. Seems like a 50% ban on training so he'll be looking at next season for training in the best case scenario, Toney lucked out a bit 8 weeks of his suspension was over the summer break.
Barnes is crap as a winger, not sure CM would be his forte! I mean, we could........but whisper this very, very quietly, it's a real taboo subject......but we could......change the formation.
Ok I'll assume you're high. But anyway, I wasn't saying he should play CM more that he could help out in the midfield if needed rather than the front 3. Plus Tonali has been deployed in an attacking role anyway this far, rather than his standard DM, so we're hardly looking for the DM replacement.
With the likes of Anderson and Longstaff we are most definitely going to struggle. Tonali hasn't set the Heather alight but he's been better than them. We need Willock back ASAP. That'll ease the situation but a firing Tonali (once fully adapted) will be a beast. This ban really doesn't help. There's also a chance, if the ban is long enough, that we won't see him play in a toon shirt again!
