After the ridiculous comfort with which we enjoyed the victories over Carlisle, Hartlepool, and Preston it was, in a strange way, comforting to see us have to grind out a result. But this is exactly the difference between this season's crop of players and last season's misfits, and the reason why, I believe, we WILL get promotion. Today our defending was superb, admittedly at times we needed a bit of luck but that is inevitable in games like this. And when you can defend well, BWP only needs one chance to score the all-important goal. I do not think any other side in League 1 can boast this combination of defensive solidity and attacking flair. This is one hell of a squad we've assembled, every single one of whom is a fighter in the best Charlton tradition. Well played everyone. Long may it continue. COYR!
Yes indeed, Captain B, and we're going to need every bit of this fighting spirit against Huddersfield. I've been saying for a while that we can beat them, but I don't think it's our flair that's going to get us there, but our determination. This lot just don't know how to give up. Brilliant.
Not wrong. First half was awful, they were sweeping the ball across nicely and leaving our midfield to constantly chase. I always thought if we got to half time then we would re-group and come out stronger. The initial opening moments didn't reflect my thoughts, but verrrrry slowly you saw the pass and move starting to kick in (slightly off topic, but we must be the fittest side in this league, and not like that as I'm not gay lol. Around 60 minutes you could see them getting tired and we weren't even in peak). Kermo was the man attacking threat with green I thought. Clever lay offs and dummies, and you can see he has no qualms about letting BWP get in the goals as I think he could have taken a touch on greens cross. Solly was a bit in different at times, it wa the left side where they had most of their joy. Donaldson looks a handful, physical presence along with Alexander(prick), so it wa good to see morro and Taylor largely dominate(not all the time) against a different kind of strike force. MOTM- you would think it might be a defender, but I'm going for kermo. Took the pressure off the midfield at times(when needed) and had a hand in anything going forward. And no I didn't travel by boat. Actually know 0 about it.
