It stinks. If zero hours contracts are so good why isn't the Prime Minister on one? Boris wouldn't have been paid much at least
An error in the dept of education means school budgets are £370m less for 24/25 than they should be. Simple error of under predicting new student numbers. Might appear a small number, but if one primary school gets say £50k less as a result the impact can be huge. It will mean stuff like sports clubs, special needs, teaching assistants likely cut. Primary and Secondary education in this country is already in a desperate state funding wise so this basic error is truly ridiculous. Lets see if they correct it in time...
No surprise that you have precisely zero knowledge of a PMs working hours. Even if you're rubbish, you're on call 24/7, and you don't even get an uninterrupted holiday.
"The government says Brexit presents a "unique opportunity" to review "overly complex" EU-era regulations governing the sector." So now we're ditching EU regulations and producers can call some drinks 'wine' when they're not actually wine ... ... the new regulations could barely be more complicated. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67136177.amp
Pleased to see Harman elected as chair of the standards committee. She did a good job on the Johnson inquiry I thought and doesnt get too dragged into the day to day pettiness of politics.
I agree, she's had a long career with only a few blips on the way. She seems to enjoy the respect of most MPs.
Over-regulation due to the arse covering culture and general lack of competence that's everywhere these days is the bane of most businesses lives.
My local MP has invited me to the house of commons as a guest. Bit of a harsh punishment I think. Asked my wife if she wanted to go along and she swore at me!
Could not agree with you over this. She lied 3 times as Justice Sec in the Blair government and got away with it. Along with her boss and Alistair Campbell and WMD was the start of the slippery slope to the ****show we now have. Sorry but that as l see it.
Give over man, you're saying Boris Johnson's defence is 'A bigger boy told me to do it' Did Harman steal money, lie to Parliament and be fined by the police while PM. Johnson's slippery slope was oiled by backhanders from Russians and corrupt Tory party donors.
Not at all, what l have said is, it has lead to the ****show we have now. All of them are indefensible in my eyes, and make no claim anyone of them are better or worst than the others.
I do agree the terrible politics we have now goes back further than the last 13 years. I just want to judge on the most recent performance, not historic. I think Harman has been quite reasonable in recent times, but it is fair enough to call out history too. Maybe she has learned and gained some wisdom, I think it looks that way to me, but fully respect your opinion. As for Blair and WMD I have never and will never forget the impact of that debacle. A real dark moment in the politics of my lifetime, and I voted for him!
Harman is much better than Johnson who needed no encouragement, from anyone, to be the liar and cheat he was from his schooldays. There were much worse MPs before Harman, Profumo for example, so to blame her, in any way, is ridiculous imo. While you're on, what were the lies she told and who to?
I have written this before, and as someone who is looking to find where to vote in the next election, both main parties do not inspire for lies and decite that have gone before. I just cannot wrap it up into one party or the other, and maybe some are not tarred as others. But as l see it, it leaves me with very little faith in the political system.
The fact is someone like Johnson coming along was inevitable because of what had been allowed before him.
Two absolute rats deserted a rapidly sinking ship and lost the Government two more seats. Pincher and Dorries were both pals of Johnson, self serving and let their constituents down badly ... ... but the blame lies mainly with Johnson for publicly backing these two selfish wasters. The results from Tamworth and Mid-Bedfordshire represent one of the worst by-election nights that any government has had to endure.
Nadine Dorries former Mid Bedfordshire seat is the biggest EVER swing from any party in ANY election.
The blame also lies with the 300+ self-serving incompetent MPs who make up the Tory parliamentary party. After that cowardly spiv Cameron slunk off, they then deemed it wise to elect May,Johnson,Truss and Sunak one after the other. It's clear they didn't know what they were doing and they deserve to be thrown out of office for those appointments alone, never mind their abject policy incompetence.
