Yeh I don't think the Palestinians expect all settlements to be removed. Certainly not in the West Bank. There's also this whole section of fertile land to the right of WB stretching to Jordan which Israel wants. Lots to negotiate tbf.
Interesting that. Just my observations over the past week, what I've noticed from Israelis calling in from Israel to UK radio and TV channels is that when the focus is on what's happening with Israeli's response to Hamas's attacks there's a lot of anger and they're very much about reminding ppl about what Hamas did last Saturday. It's the same for Palestinians but they're focused on reminding people about the treatment of Palestinians under occupation. But when the focus switches to talking about how Israeli's and Palestinians can find a way forward, both change and the rhetoric is very much about wanting to find a solution without all the vitriol. Empathy even, for the other side. What it shows is that if you take away all the justification for why one side needs to attack the other, the general feeling on both sides is to want to find a solution, and to live in peace side by side. Of course on American shows they're not so keen on talking about that
^^^^ Very much this - not like land has been taken from one side and given to another before, is it? A mile wide corridor from Gaza to the West Bank with either tunnels going underneath to allow road travel by Israelis and or a nice 6 lane suspension bridge as well / instead
A bridge was part of the proposal under Barak. A tunnel may be better, Palestinians are good at building those
What is Trebs? He can join mine and Welshies club of white suprematists and African Jews, if he wants.
Also, to touch on a point that Treble and Welshie made. Fatah and Hamas have agreed to work together before on a peace deal, but Israel blocked it because they didn't want to negotiate with Hamas. This current right wing Israeli govt have no intention of a peace deal, they want to crush Hamas and likely run Gaza in the same way they do the occupied West Bank. Which would be another nail in the coffin for an independent Palestinian State. The oft quoted accusation that 'They want to wipe Israel off the map' is exactly what they are doing on the ground with Palestine.

They've bombed a school, too. I don't even think the Israelis are going to listen to the Yanks with this one. It's looking obvious they're there to destroy the place and everything in it. I predict carnage when they enter the tunnels. Hamas will give them more than a bloody nose when that gets going. Exciting.
