Its the islands native language……still going strong and the welsh speaking school in aberdare has expanded for another thousand students
My missus' biggest regret is that she and her siblings weren't taught Welsh in school - her grandfather, who I was very fond of, was fluent ...
mall the old lot when I was a kid spoke in thy native tongue to each other….that disappeared for twenty thirty years but coming back again now
My Grandad was also fluent, loved chatting in it when he had the chance; We on the other hand know only basic phrases. It's a freaking complicated language, as someone who now speaks two languages on a daily basis Welsh and it's rules are far too complicated and that probably holds back people learning it when they get older.
I can speak and listen to cantonese. Would have preferred if i had learnt mandarin as its more useful lol. My mums going spare that my nieces barely know any cantonese
All three of my kids are first language Welsh speakers. They never use it, bar at school. The bloke opposite me, our site manager, speaks it whenever he gets the opportunity. Very popular where he's from in Carmarthen. Swear they do it to call me a ****.
I like that fella on YouTube a yank that can pick up a language in less than a week clearly autistic but still impressive your mam would love him eating in your premises dude she could have a good old chin wag
You mean Xaomanyc! He is impressive. Guys fluent in like 13 languages now, is insane. There was another yank guy, a black guy called Laoshu who was fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese who had a Youtube channel, he used to freak Chinese people out, who clearly were not used to seeing an African American speak fluent Cantonese. Sadly Laoshu passed away a couple of years ago tho But his channel and videos are still up I think.
Yeah that’s him……some people are just different level tbh I’m surprised sign language is not being used for universal language would be a big bonus everyone speaking the same language that’s for sure
Even then sign language isn't universal. Aren't they different between the countries (was thinking of learning it to communicate with my going deaf gramps but the apps suggest different ones)
Correct but the basis of sign language could be adapted easier than the spoken word……it should be done but one language is not in the vocabulary of the divider’s because it would make us closer and there’s no money in that
