The Israeli defence system is designed to counter rocket attacks. People on paragliders with small arms will not trigger the “Iron Dome” defences. I know this because I have actually been to Israel and spoken to Israelis.

Not sure what Israelis has to do with it, surely it's just basic knowledge, readily availble on the internet? Which could be, can anything fly under the radar system and at what distance? Answer: The Iron Dome system states it is effective at a range of 2.5 miles to 43.5 miles. Question: So does that mean anything within 2.5 miles cannot be responded to ie maybe due to the time it takes in response ie around 60 seconds and 2.5 miles is too close to the system? Much like a helicopter trying to fly under radar, but because they make a hell of a lot of noise that can also be picked up by instrurments. Also a paraglider would show up on a radar system but it depends on many factors. However, as you state, even with this limited information, I wouldn't imagine the iron dome was designed to pick up unconventional means of attack such as paragliders and small arms.
