It sounds to me that you are happy withe the taxation in the country. The government have us all convinced that it is ok to tax us as long as the corporations pay their bit. The tax in this country is not fair and the wastage from it almost borders on criminal at times but we get fed the same lines from different politicians.
No, he wants 'rich people', i.e. anyone with more money than him, to pay more so he can feel good about himself.
I dont think the uturn on the lords is a big deal personally. It was a bit of a distraction policy in my opinion and probably hugely time comsuming. The unwillingness to put a budget on social care and where the money is coming from is a problem though. Labour are talking big on social care, which is good and we need a new model. This doesnt read well to me though as it should be a priority area for any govt.
You don’t even know what I earn, for the record I teeter around the higher earnings threshold but happy to pay the extra tax when I go over to help people struggling. You have disdain for the undeserving to justify your personal greed
If Labour are elected they'll have a hundred more important issues than the Lords tbh. Things like this aren't really U-turns imo, they would become one if Labour were elected on the back of it in the manifesto and ditched it, HS2 is a U-turn because it was a huge pillar of the levelling up election promise. As situations change so will policies, it would be stubborn if they didn't ... ... I won't pay too much attention until an election is called tbh.
I think the the thing that is wrong is the higher burden on the lower and middle classes while the dividend business brigade duck out and move it around. I say get more in from them and invest more to ease poverty and the knock on benefits will help reduce public spend.
With the possibility of an outgoing PM, followed by an incoming new PM, we will get further numbers in the house of Lords. It already a massive waste of tax payers money. I would abolish it immediately, but cannot see how that would be passed by their lordships.
I have disdain for the undeserving because......this might blow your mind here.......they're undeserving. Your exact wording. If you're happy to pay extra for people who choose not to work and live off you rather than it going to people who either can't work or can't find work, then more fool you.
To be fair to the government I think they would be happier if we went to work and all our wages were paid directly to them then they could decide how much to give us back to live on. This seems an ideal way for them to get what they want out of the deal and as their previous record of handling the states finances is that good we will all be happy.
The most annoying thing is that they blithely waste incalculable millions upon millions on building staffless Nightingale hospitals, unusable PPE, ludicrous immigrant solutions and HS2 ... ... then manage to work out how much tax we should be paying to the halfpenny. If they were more careful with the former we'd be better off with the latter.
Exactly mate but instead of looking at them we are chasing companies like Google to pay more taxes. Its like sleight of hand and distraction they make us all look elsewhere and not at them.
The Tory party and the average "hard working family" taxpayer have very different ideas of why tax is taken from earnings. The taxpayer believes this money is taken from their wages to pay the day to day running costs of government such as hospitals, schools, welfare payments and the upkeep of public infrastructure. The Tory party believes the same money is to dole out between their network of family, friends and Oxbridge and Eton chums who will then in turn donate large sums of money to the Tory party and themselves in the future. Hope this helps.
Or , everybody’s wealth should be gathered in and then equally shared out to us all . Than when I’ve spent all mine , repeat .
