Israel has labelled rock throwing teenagers as terrorists in the past and used that label to justify opening fire on them.

This act by Hamas is terrorism. And there’s a huge difference. But the waters have been muddied by Israel’s complete stamping on any resistance with armed force.

Let’s not forget that as an occupied people, Palestinians have the right under international law to armed resistance. What they don’t have is the right to target innocent civilians. Neither do Israel, but are doing so right now.

The poked bear analogy is apt here, because that narrative is applicable to both sides

The vital ^ part of the context for me was 'in the past' let it go bro. I'm talking about the here and now, where people are fleeing, not throwing rocks like in the 'past.'

Anyway thousands are going to march in London today, that's what we do in this country, everyone has that right. As long as no buildings or humans are attacked, then it's a perfectly legitamate demonstration for whatever thoughts, wishes and values they hold .

 

Met police chap was quoting 10,000. I think it'll be a lot more than that.

Hope both rallies/vigils/protests whatever they call it, stay well away from each other.

You’re missing the point, it’s not about clinging onto anything. It’s about labelling acts as terrorism when they are not.

Last Saturday was, rock throwing isn’t.

The reason this matters is that any resistance to occupation is labelled as terrorism. When under international law, an occupied people have the right to armed resistance
