Harsh scoreline at half time but it was inevitable.

I honestly think we're missing Best upfront. Ba has had quite a few opportunities to bring the ball down and link up with Ben Arfa/Sammy but has failed to control. He's a great striker and we're playing the best team in the league (potentially top 3 in Europe IMO) but still. Best just has that nack of taking the ball down anywhere!

Ben Arfa's touch has really impressed and Guthrie's been working like a machine in the middle. If I was Pardew I'd be telling the lads to gamble at the near post any time Sammy gets out wide, 3 times he's swung crosses into that area (unintentionally or otherwise) and it only needs a nick to take it past the keeper in that area!

 

This, we miss that powerhouse presence.

 

Man City have had the ball for about 40 mins and have hardly done anything really.
We've and the ball for, well 5 mins lets say and have created two brilliant chances

 

It isn't over till the fat lady sings. Remember 5th Feb?

Even old monkey heed seems to think we're a tad unlucky at the moment.

 

Agree with all of this, especially about Raylor's form. It is easy to get blinded by his fantastic goals, so his mistakes have slipped under the radar occasionally, unlike Simpson, who are fans are more likely to criticise as despite being a better defender, he isn't as strong technically.

 

Anyone seen how Ben Arfa on the 46th minutes or so i think, did something magical as he went past the defender!

 

Ba should've had two as well. It's not like we haven't been in the game. As long as we make a game of it in the second half I'll be happy, anything more than that is a massive bonus and would've been even if we went in 0-0 at HT.

 

Sammy doesn't look out of place on the right at all, looks comfortable on the ball when he has it and never looks like he's under pressure.

 

Guthrie's been ok, but true, not in the same league as Tiote.

 

We had to take our chances, we weren't going to get many. But we had 1 clear chance and a free header. Ba should have done better on both attempts. Still looking forward to the 2nd half.

We've played alright , soaked up the pressure and played on the counter. Two bad mistakes by Raylor though. Tiote proving to be a huge miss.

 

We've got to try to get Jonas and Sammy up the pitch ... Hope that Raylor can still take free kicks ...

 

Love how he's not afraid to get at Clichy. Some of his clearances have looked a little rushed but going forward he's been great.

Sammy seems lost on the pitch - doesn't look like he will make it as a footballer. He is worse than Shola in my opinion at the momet - hopefully experience proves me wrong, so in a few years, he will be a lot better. But Marv and Obertan over him any day.
