The Champion Bumper form is on show at Chepstow with Captain Teague the hot fav for the Persian War - he finished 3rd behind the McManus pair at Cheltenham. Not a straightforward task on hurdles debut for him though with several in the field already winners over obstacles. Should be an interesting and informative contest. All in all a good card at Chepstow - a fine Veterans Chase to start things off and then some good novice races. Paul Nicholls is mustard at this meeting and should have a good day.

Wet day in Yorkshire Some (mainly) TV, fun doubles Bona Fortuna 2.05 Dance Sequence 2.25 Mr Monaco 3.15 Sea the Fire 4.10 Maverick Wings 4.45 Glimpsed 5.20 Hoping for a big day for Mr Beckett
Not very good, though Dance Sequence and Glimpsed (especially) looked useful. However, Mr Monaco was totally unsuited by the going yet ran on up the straight and looks a stayer in the making, while the unfurnished Sea the Fire could be a lot better next year if she grows into her frame.
