I thought his corners last season were pretty dreadful. I agree with the comment about our forward line yet JWP seriously under-performed for us in 22/23. Glad he is doing well at West Ham but he probably needed a fresh start. He appears to have gone up another level at West Ham.

England u21s beat Serbia u21s 9-1 last night in qualifying for the next Euros.

Serbia actually took the lead, and it wasn't until the 38th minute that England equalised.

So we basically scored 9 goals in an hour.

 

watched the game this morning and I’d watch that football every day if it was on offer.

you know the best thing. Kids in the ground cheering and losing their minds. No overweight red faced pricks making ****er gestures and booing or giving the finger to the opposition fans. Just kids running up the edge of the pitch high fiveing the players and having a great time. Foootball was better for it.

and there’s a lot of talent in that u21s team. Brilliant play.

 

Yeah watched about 20 mins of extended highlights. Really could have been well into double figures. Some incredible talent in that squad.

Harvey Elliott and Noni Madueke in particular.

 

Wow, Danny Röhl appointed as Sheffield Wednesday manager. That'll be really interesting to watch.

Elliot was outstanding but Rico Lewis for me, just brilliant game understanding, the use of the pitch, the way he created passing lanes and the intelligence and awareness for such a young player. I’m always attracted to those workhorses. Madueke will be a star and a liability in equal measure I reckon on that viewing.

 

Eastleigh 1 Dover Athletic 0. Through to the 1st Round proper of the FA Cup. Hopefully the gods smile on the Spitfires and they can progress to the 3rd round! Woundn't it be great if Southampton played Eastleigh at that stage of the competition?

 

This seems odd. Allegedly Ireland has a better chance of reaching the finals by losing to the Netherlands and qualifying through a second qualifying league.
