A deadlier version of scanning your expensive pomegranates as onions on the self service checkout

Reliance on tech will always be flawed, as people with the intent will find a way to circumvent it.

    Yep it's been debunked.

A journo put it out there, and all the media jumped on it. The original journo changed her story once the IDF said in response there was a lot of misinformation being put out. Really distasteful.

Some good journos out there, some really bad ones as well.

I posted earlier there's a lot of misinformation being put out.

Like I've said before mate, there's no accounting for what goes on in your head.

A two state solution is not anti Israel. It includes Israel as a State along with Palestine

I'm not sure why I'm trying to explain this to you <laugh>

I think what's insane is that it didn't take a lot to completely knock it out.

    A billion dollar installation.

Something as simple as a drone and a small explosive ffs <doh>

At least BAE systems and Lockheed will get some new contracts I suppose....

This is the problem with the blame game. Many are saying it's all down to Hamas which are identified as a terrorist group.

Take that as fact and accept that they have killed mant Isreali's with their attack on saturday, now think about a well equiped and trained army being tasked with bombing the **** out of a whole region of civillians. Do you think that's right?

The sad thing is Palisinians and Isreali's live quite peacefully together in many areas but all suffer from the acts of state (i use that word for both sides because Hamas were officially voted in many years ago).

Still think the Israeli state is by far the worse of the two because they constantly have their foot on the neck of the Palisinian people with their restrictions on food, medicines, fuel, water and movement. That kind of oppression only comes from one side and is full time.

You're going around in circles mate.

It's not really that strange, given what they are now undertaking

Unless you have another definition for it ?

Were they UN soldiers or from one particular side which might benefit from bad news?

Even under the two-state solution, the status quo in Gaza simply could not have persisted anyway.

First and foremost, the internationally recognised Palestinian government rejects Hamas' leadership of Gaza, second it's a dense heavily populated area which cannot sustain itself and is therefore reliant on power & water from Israel and money from donors.

Thirdly, and arguably the most important, Hamas do not support a two-state solution and want Israel gone and destroyed.

Gazan's are lead by people who are likely living in Iran and making decisions which are ultimately going to get Gazans killed.

This was always going to kick off eventually.

Another issue for Palestine is all their "friends and partners" are flacid. The Arab nations have pitiful militaries, crippled by corruption. They will absolutely not be able to stand against Israel even discounting the US support that would flood in.

They weren't UN soldiers no, I got the impression they were the first soldiers to arrive on site, I do know pictures were shown of bodies under covers, but obviously they are not going to show you decapitation. Also I agree that some stories have been debunked, but the looks of the soldiers I saw certainly looked one of distress whatever they saw.

Ethnic cleansing is used as a term to describe the wipeout of a race/ethnicity. If you class a terrorist group killing a few hundred festival goers do you also think the terrorist who killed children (and adults) at Manchesters O2 arena was ethnic cleansing?

Look at the difference man, all civillians getting killed but two were in a quick raid by terrorists the 3rd (current one) is being carried out by a state against a whole area.

The status quo is ****ed. In it's current guise, both the land division and the leadership on both sides is woefully out of kilter with what the population needs.

Both Hamas, and Likud want to annihilate each other

A two state solution is achievable, but it's long way off given the material circumstances there right now.

The problem is, religious fanatics / nationalists fight their way to the top. 95% of people just want to live in harmony, whilst others feel it’s their right to kill people for a bit of land because it has some meaning to them from a historic age that means the square root of **** all.

There is more detail to the status quo.

    Netanyahu doesn't want a two-state solution either.

He continually uses divide and conquer to make sure it doesn't happen to appease the right wing in his party and those in extremist parties he's in alliance with to stay in power <doh>

He'll do everything to undermine the Palestinian Authority which is a peaceful legitimate government in the West Bank. He's ignored every request from the PM Abbas for negotiations.

At the same time he'll do deals with Hamas, whether it's prisoner swaps or financial deals with them in exchange for peace.

What kind of message does that send out? If you're peaceful then you get ignored, if you're violent you get something in return.

Like I keep repeating mate, if Saturday has not happened, the events of the following days would not have happened. I agree the problem needs to be resolved, but when people want to tie past history with Saturdays events and the suggestion people get round a table, I know what I would be saying if I had the bigger stick, why would I cosy up to a table with someone that just butchered hundreds of my civilians, I wouldn't, you wouldn't nor would Pinkie if it was his family. All this shhite is easy to say thousands of miles away, let's get round a table. Yes, it might be the sensible solution, but when men start running about like wild animals, my door is closed to negotiations. If you allow it to happen, then you open the door to all the nutters in the world - that is NOT aimed at Palestinians, that is aimed at people who think terror is the answer. I don't know how we get Israel to calm down now, because they themselves have the threat right on their front door going by Saturdays events.

You are entirely missing the point and i am not sure if it's delibrate or not.

One is a terrorist group that committed an atrocity against many civilians, the other is a State that is now committing a larger atrocity against a whole region of innocent people who they have oppressed for years via sanctions.

I agree with the religious fanatics bit, some people are just hell bent on trying to wipe out anybody who doesn't follow their doctrines. These people are cultists and they exist on both sides. And like you point out, these people manage to fight their way to positions of power, and then unleash their warped mantra on their countrymen.

From a land perspective in modern context. Palestinians were given assurances back at the beginning of the last century (by the British) that they would be consulted about a Palestinian state, in the context of Jewish immigrants to their land.....and that never happened. They were instead marginalised in their own country, whilst the State of Israel was established. Since then they've basically seen more and more of their land being swallowed up by Israel and more and more of their rights being eroded. To the point now where they are basically refugees in their own home.

So you can see why they are pissed off about it.

But like you say, 95% of people just want to get on with their lives in peace, raise their families, put food on the table and get on with their neighbours. There's nothing about Palestine/Israel at its root that means it can't happen. Jews and Arabs have lived alongside each other peacefully for centuries. It's the power hungry fanatics that cause this ****, and it's innocent civilians that pay the price.
