The simple fact is we don't know the answers to anything really, only what we think we know the answers to but even a lot of that is subjective. I'm waiting for these little green men to turn up, that have been around for trillions of years to tell us what is really going on, then maybe we can chuck religion out the window once and for all. But to the religious fanatics, don't worry my guess is we aint likely to see any green men, they also are a figment of our erudition.

It'll take more than some green dudes to get rid of organised religion.

I think we need those green dudes to turn up sometime soon, to stop the human race obliterating itself, or maybe that's the green dudes plan, to let us do that and save the universe the aggravation..

How long before freshwater supply is the next big thing?

This from an investigation carried out by the New York Times. It's behind a paywall so had to source it elsewhere:

Ample amounts of groundwater throughout North America have made the U.S. the food superpower it is today, but that groundwater is disappearing.

A New York Times investigation reveals the fragility of the U.S.’s underground water supply, and how decades of mismanagement and the ongoing threat of climate change are leaving America’s once-bountiful aquifers bone dry.

Many of the aquifers that supply 90 percent of the USA’s water systems, and which have transformed vast stretches into some of the world’s most bountiful farmland, are being severely depleted. The investigation shows how groundwater resources are being exhausted in much of the country, and in many cases won’t come back. Huge industrial farms and sprawling cities are draining aquifers that could take centuries or millenniums to replenish themselves if they recover at all.

American groundwater has been severely depleted in recent decades, with 40 percent of more than 85,000 wells hitting all-time lows in the past decade and rainwater failing to replace the losses.

The deficits are found across the country, including in Utah, California and Texas, where the depletion is leading to fissures in the ground and buckling roadways. Arizona officials announced in June that some new construction in the Phoenix area would be restricted due to inability to guarantee groundwater supply.

Although the crisis has intensified in recent years, the Times analysis found that every year since 1940, more wells have seen their levels fall than increase. In California and Arizona, major aquifers have either hit or matched all-time lows since NASA started keeping records.

In California, one of the biggest sources of produce in the country, more than 76 of the aquifer basins are pumping water out faster than it can refill. The record rainfall this winter has done little to remedy the crisis, as much of it was carried into the ocean by the state’s rivers.

“There is no way to get [depleted groundwater] back,” Don Cline, the associate director for water resources at the United States Geological Survey, told the Times. “There’s almost no way to convey how important it is.”

Enjoyed the theories of this which also challenges Einstein theories, part of the fun is not believing anything and challenging everything...

I've saved the Sabine Hossenfelder to watch at sometime on the same topic of time, although not sure I'll get very far in it because she's a bit bland.

Another video I watched was the Parker probe, that took off in 2018 on a seven year mission, was really interesting especially the speeds it had to reach which were a record for a man made object. It's gone on research of the Sun, and will eventually end it's mission via it. It's due it's next major hurdle in 2024.

all very nice and that but don’t you think we should make this planet the most important part of life firstly and when we’ve sorted out the mess we can go in search of knowledge in far flung dead zones
