England Women through to the World Cup quarter-Fiinals but Lauren James deliberately treads on a fallen opponent - straight red card Even if she had been wound up, a very silly thing to do.
I went to Cuiabá v Flamengo last night, David Luiz was the captain of Flamengo. Whilst all the decent players leave Brazil and get a better pay packet elsewhere, there is money to pay a select few, Suárez is here for Grêmio. Luiz must be on 100k a week for doing f*** all.
I hear Gareth Southgate might be retiring as England Manager after the Euros. He's in line to be the next Arch Bishop of Canterbury
The Sex Pest has finally resigned as head (dickhead that is) of the Spanish FA Now perhaps the Spanish Nation can properly begin to celebrate the achievement of their women's football team, rather than endure the embarrassment of having to talk endlessly about a crotch-rubbing bozo who just wanted to snog them.
Recently, Dartford have been a step up from Welling and results have heavily favoured the Darts. But like Charlton, Dartford talked about a big rebuild in the summer to push for promotion, and so far, results have been at the same level as the Addicks, and the football has rapidly dwindled to hoofball and little else. Given that most of the teams picking up points against the Darts are in the lower half of the table, the manager is under real pressure to turn it around, as so far, all his post match talk of 'knowing what went wrong' and the usual stuff after another painful home defeat is wearing very thin, and another early cup exit could well see him out the door. For Welling fans, it's probably a good time to be playing Dartford, although their own form isn't a great deal better.
Mason Greenwood might consider changing profession... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66952974 Fallout from his behaviour will follow him wherever he goes. Maybe he could get a job on GB News
Scunthorpe in big trouble by the looks of things. Their owner described the fans as 'spastics' in one tweet that surfaced this week. As it was a quote of a quote, the reality of whether the chairman was daft enough to say that isn't proved, but the same quote has him going on to say 'I will stop funding the club- see who is laughing then' and he has now pulled the funding. Rumour is they will have to play games at Gainsborough. Another decent smaller club being trashed bu a dodgy owner.
Sheffield Wednesday in trouble too. Some fans insulted their owner so he's thrown his toys out of the pram
I'm uncomfortable listening to Scottish rugby players saying what they'll do to the Irish team tonight. Scottish teams, football and rugby, have a terrible habit of not turning up for the big games, and talking the talk doesn't help.
If Scotland actually win this evening I think it will be the biggest upset in years. But even if they do, I underststand Ireland only need to score 4 tries and get a losing bonus point to send them through and the Scots out. I think the Irish will achieve that. Scotland need a miracle. But one of the reasons I think Soccer is a better game than Rugby, is that miracles happen more often in Soccer.
SHOWBIZ SHOWBIZ Birmingham City (6th in the Championship) new owners sack their manager and bring in Wayne Rooney - on three times the salary See you in League One next season
Didn't Brum do exactly the same thing a few years back, sacking Gary Rowett when they were in the playoff position? If memory serves me right (it does sometimes) they slid down the league after that.
