You reckon Klopp could train a system into disparate players that have all been playing in different systems in 2 or 3 weeks?
Just exclude teams competing in Europe from the League Cup; reduces the number of games for those in Europe and provides an opportunity for the others to win some silverware.
Why not just scrap internationals altogether if you want to play a World cup with teams who don't know each other or how theyt are being asked to play. Only Liverpool supporters come out with this kind of thing
Nope, i saw it. Liverpool Liverpool Liverpool and **** all else. Makes sence though because in a World cup or European championship you have no nation, you are scousers.
Ah, I see you're in stupid prick mode again tonight. Like the Diaz debacle, it's not about Liverpool, it's about making the game better for all domestic clubs everywhere. I don't care if you agree with me or not, just try and understand what's being said to you and stop being so bloody fatuous.
Know nothing of it, please enlighten me. I assume he got injured or something which could very well happen in the first few seconds of any game to any player.
From a sporting perspective, I would say there's more justification for the internationals though, as they do at least involve different teams and competitions, give players a chance to represent their country etc. Whereas I don't really see what additional sporting value the league cup brings beyond what we already have with the FA Cup. I do think they could reduce the number of internationals during the season though, and the League Cup does generate extra revenue for lower league teams.
Now that deigo is asleep after his sad effort at warming. Here is where this is headed 16 team top division 1 domestic cup with teams in Europe having a bye to last 16 (8) 10 team european leagues with 8 entrants per country and likely 3 tiers and post league play offs etc. Expanded internationals (fifa money) So we are a sliver away from this now. Really close Its not an attractive position but look at it. 30 league games Max 4 cup games (if you make a final) 26 european games 15-20 internationals (for fifa to exploit) think on that. its the same level of games there are today, just shifted away from domestic into the slush funds of uefa (not a super league it seems so far) and FIFA (who want control of internationals and greater money)
I think I made it clear that I was expressing my opinion and stated that it wasn't going to happen, but Diego was being such a knob I didn't get a chance for a sensible discussion. I'm aware that internationals mean a lot to some people, and they're a major part of FIFA's raison d'etre, not to mention meal-ticket. It's just that I'm immune to their charms and wouldn't be bothered if I never saw another in what's left of my life. What I care about is the way our players, and those of all clubs in our position, are getting burned out from too many games, and internationals throughout the season are a major contributor to that. And a far bigger disruptive influence than the Mickey Mouse cup. We can always just chuck that if we wanted - it wouldn't be the first time. I didn't record the exact figures, but I looked at our fixtures and in September and November we play 6 games in about a 27-30 day period in each month. A month with 12 or 13 days lost to internationals, so 6 games in 16-18 days. And of course, most of our players are off jetting around the place playing more games during those breaks - increasing fatigue and the possibility of injury. It's too much.
it's really this simple for me. if you want to sit on a couch amd watch football then in theory the opponent or location won't matter hugely. the time the game is on will matter. if you want to go to games then it really matters as you want to be able to get entry and have real rivalry etc. nobody wants games against randoms. that don't matter. the Spanish model of domestic cup where Barca wander in at last 16 and have 2 legs is not attractive to me at all. if rather see is up to our necks in mud in a shed in the fa cup 3rd round than swanning in likes God's gift.
Personally I would rather see the CL go back to just that the Champions of each country With Europa given a boost in its image But that’s just me I reckon lol less games then in the CL Defo remove int friendlies Very much agree with how Saint would do that Or condense the league so the friendlies played after the season with Prem games being played when the current breaks are scheduled for int games. argument against that used to be different leagues run at different times but as I knew they would the moved everything for the Quatar WC so that reason now DIW
there aren't many International friendlies anymore and the managers may want less games but the clubs certainly don't want less revenue .
