I believe that Einstein defined madness as repeating the same action but expecting a different result. Certainly applies to our beloved club!
How did he define playing an untried left-back at right-back in a team playing a flat back four with nobody in wide midfield?
Here’s a thought. What about bringing in Warnock alongside Ainsworth? Ainsworth can still do his bit on the training field and all the happy clappy motivation stuff. But Warnock does tactics, picks the side and set up. They could sell it as an experienced guy to help Ainsworth out. And if Ainsworth doesn’t like it and walks out, great. Have I just cracked it - or am I cracking up?
Love the idea, can't see Ainsworth going for it though. Only hope is if he has VERY fond memories of working under Warnock with us.
Is there something special about QPR fans or do all supporters think mainly in terms of past managers when the current one is ****? We just need someone who can give these players a shape and some purpose. Currently I imagine it’s just like the U13s at school - you are given a position but absolutely no guidance about how to play, where to put the ball, how to use space etc. what the **** Dobson has in his ring binder is beyond me. He was giving Kakay a guided tour (holiday pics?) before he came on with about 15 minutes to go at 4-0 down. Laughable.
Exactly. You hear of other managers giving detailed instructions, based on research made on how the other team play, and how certain players tend to play. The approach at the moment seems to be one way, negative, and we stick to it even when it clearly isn't working. Yesterday was painful to watch, but why no changes were made until the 71st minute is beyond me. Too little too late.
I just think there are very few at this level with Colin’s record, Stan. Not sure he’s ever failed at the foot of the Championship. I recall him turning little Rotherham into a well oiled unit a few years back. Contract to the end of the season and let him do his thang. Seemples.
Steve Evans wouldn’t be the worst option if he was an option at all. People would turn their noses up a bit but he gets results.
Presumably they're being discussed because two are available currently. I wouldn't want Warburton, but Warnock I'd take back in a heartbeat.
It's easy to forget how things were though. No one behind the scenes would talk to him near the end according to Clive and others.
Nathan Jones anyone. We would really hate him, so would the players initially...but bet you we wouldn't be relegated
