Indeed he is not a striker and never will be. Picks a pass though and we needed that in the team.

Wouldn't disagree but then everyone who started played well.

Just a shame we stopped playing during the first half stoppage time as we'd been battering them up to that point and should have kept going full pelt rather than trying to manage the game until the HT whistle.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't though I guess.

If Georginio adds goals to his all round game then we'll be looking at a phenomenal player and personally I'm just going enjoy watching him because we won't get a second season from him in the Championship and rightly so.

I'm hoping it's a case of once he gets his first at ER then he'll settle down in front of goal

Thing is, I don’t believe it’s something you can coach, you are either a natural goal scorer or not. Bamford is still erratic and he’s 30. He and Rutter are not good finishers, Piroe is.

Thierry Henry was never a natural finisher until Wenger got hold of him. He figured out a way to pass the ball in to the net. I feel Georginio could do the same. There's still more to come from the lad.

Bamford will never be a clinical striker.

    Piroe is a great finisher.

Disagree. Wenger converted him into a centre forward because he recognised Henry was a natural goal scorer.

Henry has stated himself numerous times that it took him 9 games to score as a striker at Arsenal. He was getting in to good positions but hitting the fans instead of the goal. He stayed behind everyday with mannequins acting as defenders and practised hitting the corners of the net and after a few weeks the goals started flowing.

Personally I think some players have a natural knack of being in the right place at the right time. The likes of Lineker, Fowler and Owen often found themselves Johnny on the spot. That doesn't mean that it can't be taught. The taught players may never hit the heights of the players where the movement just appears natural but it can certainly be replicated to a certain extent.

Then there is the factor of having ice in your veins. This is where Paddy falters. He's great in training, great behind closed doors but when the pressure is on he snatches at shots and overthinks things. I think this is where Georginio is at the moment. He's trying too hard. He has the ability to just cushion that ball in to the net on Saturday but instead kind of just prods at it and he doesn't control it.

Here's the rub. A young Henry was able to gain experience and was clever enough to realise that he needs to relax when shooting. He was also cool enough to relax under pressure. Could be confidence or it could be a natural strength of character to not let nerves get the better of him.

That's the key word with Georginio. Experience. At the moment he's snatching at chances or even sometimes too relaxed. Paddy will not improve, he's always been ****e under pressure and at 30 years old he ain't changing. Georginio is very young and he can "get it" just like Henry did. It won't be easy and he'll have to work overtime but it's possible. Gained experience and learning from his mistakes is a real possibility with him.

Disclaimer. I'm not saying Georginio can be another Henry but his development looks to be taking a similar path position wise.

Hopefully you’re right but I doubt it. Henry was a natural in front of goal and once he scored there was no stopping him. Rutter scored a worldie against Ipswich and has then gone on to miss two that my Nan would have finished

Totally agree and Rutter will improve massively once he realises it's about practise and technique in those situations. Piroe is a great example who when you watch him in the warm ups repeatedly hits shots hard and low for the corners, whereas Georginio and all the others are shooting for top corners etc which under match pressure is way more difficult to repeat.

Summerville is the same as he keeps smashing ball at the goalkeeper instead of hard and low across him.

Farke hopefully working hard on that with them over the next 2 weeks.

Kane has bagged quite a few by going hard and low for the corners

You cannot coach “natural goal scoring”. The clue is in the description <ok>
