Personally I think you are wrong on LR, from what I see the atmosphere around the whole club has at last got a purpose about it, and that is largely because Liam has got every one rowing is the same direction, this alone cannot be underestimated. Yes Acun and Tan are also important with this regard, but around the playing staff, coaches etc, Liam is the one setting the standards and atmosphere. On the playing style, we are still a work in progress, Liam is a new coach, he is learning his trade, he will make mistakes, but is intelligent enough to work them out. I've seen a few comments on social media today, that Rooney is getting the Brum job, and a few are saying Liam was the reason he did well at Derby, and are not confident Rooney is the right man for the job. So clearly those that saw Derby play under Rooney know who was the actual orchestrator was. Some are getting ahead of themselves, and expect too much too quickly. I can see progress, we just need to be patient and see where it takes us,
I completely agree with your post on the whole, but with regard to him getting everyone pulling in the same direction there is a notable exception; a large section of the support. With every week that goes by it seems like there is more and more opposition to him and his team. It worries me. I think the one obvious threat to this team achieving great things in time is the support on the whole not giving it the chance to do so.
Genuine question for you ( and everyone I suppose ) what progress are you seeing? LR made us hard to beat which we still are. Which is good, but...... We haven't really started scoring more goals, it's still a big problem We still draw to many games and it's still a big problem Our home form still isn't great and it's still a problem. We are still plagued by injuries despite LR saying he wanted us to be fit and robust. We still have a lack of options up top despite him having 2 windows to sort it He still insists on putting square pegs in round holes Our overall form and points per game ratio hasn't really got any better under him I think LR currently is, an inexperienced mid table manager and that's exactly what he's delivered in his almost year with us. If we are ok with that as a club then LR is a fantastic gaffer to have with his connections to the club and area etc. I personally want more from us as a club and team but that's just my personal opinion.
You don’t think you’re getting ahead of yourself John? Liam was the brains behind it at derby? You realise he got sacked there don’t you
The brains with Rooney Chazz. It's a reasonably commonly held belief, not just John. I know Derby fans who think it too.
but with zero proof, its just fans with no actual insight giving their opinion beale who then got sacked by rangers i think gerrards **** but its just an easy way to call him ****
and roseniors glittering mangerial success since? rooney has had one job since and didn't do too bad with dc united really, with the players at the disposal but its just an easy way to say with no real basis im not even a fan of rooney, its just a way to call him stupid and inept
unless you can give me proof rosenior was the 'brains' behind derby plus rosenior could be a good manager, it doesnt mean you need to discredit someone else
What a load of crap. So anyone who see's fault in Liam as a manager is now the reason we won't achieve anything? If Liam doesn't achieve anything it'll be because he's not as good a manager as he thinks he is.
He begs you every week to support the team. Seri's in the paper saying we need to shut out the fans telling us to get it forward because that's why we drop points at home. You choose to not believe them because you'd rather be angry than understanding. Like I said, everyone's pulling in the same direction, except for some of the fans. Seems like you're one of them.
For me after 11 games last season we were 20th after 11 games this season we are 9th. I personally see that as progress. Personally I don't expect us to be promoted this season. I would love it if we did but I don't expect or require it. A top ten finish for me would be good progress. A play-off finish would be excellent. I am enjoying the football this season even if we don't win every game but that is a personal opinion. TBF though I am quite easily pleased when it come to City as my "peak" years for being able to attend we're in the 90s
He wasn't sack because of the performances they wanted a more experienced manager in, which so far has not gone all that well.
