I guess it's how you see it, I knew a Palestinian lad in Gran Canaria, family had been killed in the war in the 70's and he grew up in a refugee camp. He didn't hate the Israelies, as far as he was concerned it was muslim leaders who put him in the camp, and then kept him in them to politically profit from his misery.

You're avoiding my question though, what would you do if you lived in Palestine right now? My answer is as realistic and clear as day. If you gave me a gun and I was angry, felt oppressed, Hamas were feeding me information I wanted to hear, I was surrounded by my friends and neighbours and we were all feeling this adreneline and momentum? It's highly likely I would find the nearest Israeli and shoot that ****er dead, or someone in my group would at the very least if I got cold feet. It wouldn't make a **** all bit of difference to anyone except his family and children, perhaps me when I am killed by Mossad, but I am a working schmuk with barely any say, what else am I going to do? I am interested to see the predictable response from the Arab world to this, radio silence apart from local press that will praise the actions of Hamas whilst their own governments accept Israeli weapons and money.

I don't know why but up until our response to Ukraine being invaded, I was all for a peaceful resolution at any cost between Israel/Palestine. But the way we support one with arms to defend themselves whilst allowing another to be occupied by ppl we support, coupled with the fact, if Ukraine can fight back then why can't the Palestinians, I'm beginning to think it's the only course of action left open to them. Actually I do know why, I don't expect nor want anyone to arm the Palestinians, but if we can do all that for the Ukranians, the very least we can and should do is be harder with Israel. Call them out for their attrocities, hold them to account every way we can economically and turn them into pariahs, all without anyone being bombed or killed. That's a fraction of what we're doing for the Ukranians. So it's all just bollox. I know what you'll say Welshie, it's all geopolitical and maybe I'm being naive but it still gets my goat. I would fight is the answer. If I had been raised the way I have to value innocent life, as opposed to growing up and being influenced the way you described, I'd like to think it would be aimed solely at the Israeli army. I don't condone kidnapping or killing civilians. But if I was a Palestinian I'd fight no doubt about it. As I would as a Brit if the same **** happened here, even if it seemed like a lost cause.
The same happened in Ukraine, we gave them weapons, now we sit back and watch as they kill one anothers families, all for what, absolute fook all at the moment, apart from the madness of death and destruction. I remember at the beginning both me and Archers said we need to keep our noses out, but no here we are now with whole towns and villages wiped off the map. I agree that the very least that should be happening is pushing the Israeli's harder on their policies, we don't even apply the pressure of possible sanctions or the cutting of aid. Elephant in the room here is that there's about 6 million Jewish people in the US and many are incredibly influential. Whilst the UK should have something to say on the matter of Israel it's hard to argue that this is not a US matter which would primarily require US action. Like I said earlier, wouldn't trust Biden to pull his own pants up. He's well out of his depth.
The problem you've got is all these different powers all have their own agendas, so each side are supplied with weapons to attack their oppostie number with. Much like what is happening in the Ukraine, we give them weapons because it's their people dying not ours, and Putin don't care how many of his own young people or prison fighters die, they are just cannon fodder. One of the narratives for this latest attack is Saudi Arabia was getting too close to Israel, and the Iranians don't want that, so what better way to halt it than to supply those opposed to Israel with weapons. So is this really an America v Iran proxy war?....but they will let the puppets in the middle take the death toll. Next up Israel will slaughter more humans in retaliation. Fooking great!
