Meslier - 7. Didn't really have loads to do but distribution was decent and he came and dealt with some tricky set pieces.

Gray - 9. Out of position, 17 year old. Such a mature performance and was todays MOM.

Rodon - 7. Stood strong against some tricky crosses. Couple of nervy moments but I'm sure he'd say he was in control.

Struijk - 7. Him and Rodon seem to have a good understanding. Lost a few aerial battles again but his positioning is much much better recently.

Byram - 8. Outstanding block in the last few minutes to keep the score 2-1. Typified his performance. Good attacking threat too.

Ampadu - 8. Another strong display. Running out of things to say about his midfield dominance in every game.

Kamara - 9. Exceptional in the middle with Ampadu. Ampadu destroyed Bristol attacks and Kamara set us on our way with some really simple but highly effective passes. Assist.

James - 7. A typical James performance. A goal, ran like his life depended on it and fell over the ball a couple of times. He is what he is but so far this season his numbers are up there. Goal.

Piroe - 7. Better. Link up play was better but he still needs to be quicker with his passing. Lovely goal to wrong foot the keeper. Goal.

Summerville - 8. Passed the ball earlier than he did last week and the team looked better for it. Had chances to put the game to bed but needs to have more confidence in front of goal. Needs to start converting chances on a more regular basis. Assist.

Georginio - 8. Missed two sitters 1st half. One disallowed goal. Great link up play. Really starting to look a fantastic player. Really needs to start scoring though as the chances he is missing are not really acceptable. We WILL pay a price for thos misses if it carries on.

    Subs.

Anthony - 6. Struggled to have much of an impact.

Bamford - 5. Disappointing last few minutes after a promising spell on Wednesday. Took the wrong option every time.

Ayling - n/a. Stoppage time sub.
    Cooper- n/a. Stoppage time sub.
Gruev - n/a. Stoppage time sub.

Almost a very good result for you boys. It was a good away performance and all you can do against a team with our quality and spending power is stay in the game and Bristol did that. On another day you could sneak a point. The set pieces were very dangerous.

I don’t think Bristol are one of the best 6 teams in the division BUT are certainly one of those teams who, with a bit of fortune, can easily get on a run and squeak in to the play offs.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

    - I was actually a bit disappointed in Kamara, but there you go. Would've scored him a 7 though.
    - Archie Dallas was very good after the first 15 or so nervous mins., so more appropriate to give him an 8 imo.
    - Struijk was magnificent. Almost all forward travel started with him, & he made some wonderful intercepts & tackles. I'd have scored him the same as Rodon, who had a fairly quiet first half, by his standards.
    - Finally, I'd give Rutter a 9. The energy of that guy is incredible, whether it be the 1st minute or the 90-odd-th. And some of his touches were, frankly, world class. Simply astonishing at times.

Got to mention Meslier's left fist. Wouldn't like to be on the end of that! He had 2 fcuking excellent huge clearances one-fisted.

Not sure if mentioned already but Bamfords attempt when basically clean through was quite simply pathetic. Anyone still rating him as a cf is deluded. He can’t kick with either foot and can’t head a ball. Todays effort was a shocker again

Have to agree, how he managed to clear the bar from 2 yards out was simply astonishing.

Rutter also missed a simple header from 6 yards out.

He's playing really well but he's gonna have to get goals at some point.

Not an easy one to call this one.
    Could go all the way.
Has Josh got one more big fight in him?
    I hope so.

I don't think so mate. Leigh Wood is a tough lad and I think Josh has run his race. It's his retirement money tonight.

Wood will knock him out. I think Josh is washed up. Wood will pick him off more and more as the rounds go on. Josh is just charging in.
