It's a lovely day here in Portsmouth, I think I'll go down to Gunwharf quays.

There's a Haribo shop down there now.

You're actually putting this down to Tories voting for Labour? Hysterical. On a 66% turnout in 2019 the Tories got @8000 votes. On a 37% turnout, they got 1.1k. So @ 7k of Tory voters, on a 30% reduced vote, turned out and boosted the Labour vote by 7K? Labour's share of the vote went up @ 20% thanks to Tories rolling up and giving them 7k votes? What total ****ery. John Curtice just turned in his grave (can't be long now by the kip of him).

I disagree re Curtice. He's got the look of one of those old academics who live on the whiff of a lettuce leaf and the occasional glass of water. Probably get a telegram from King Willy in about thirty years time. As regards the voting though you are spot on. Tories won't vote Labour in any numbers. That's why it would have made sense not to fight too hard in Mid Beds it may let the Tories off the hook. Then we will get the Tory revival story from the client journos.

That would be two Tory votes in a row which is quite a lot for an edgy non-conformist who hates the Tories.

I would vote for Labour again if Corbyn was in charge instead of Sir Rodney.
    Making it 2-1 .

Neither is likely to happen so i won't be doing either.

<doh> No wonder you spend all your time regurgitating cretins off Twitter as you do not seem to be able to read; and you draw incorrect conclusions.

Just look at the bit that you highlighted. I cited two reasons why Labour ‘won big’. Some Conservatives voted tactically as they knew their candidate had no chance (name any Conservative minister that was reported campaigning in the constituency). Lots of SNP voters stayed at home as it was they that got their disgraced former MP recalled. How could they then turn out and vote for a replacement with the local party in disgrace? I am sure some SNP voters changed sides after Dame Kelly Stormer knocked on their door and used the wrong pronouns to ask for their vote.

Their candidate had very little chance last time and they voted Tory so I doubt they voted en masse for Labour this time. Sounds a bit illogical even if it helps you sleep at night.
