Not really as we have 3 left backs in Byram, Firpo and Shackleton. On the right we have Ayling, Spence, Byram and Shackleton. Centre back we're well covered. Plenty of options in midfield and same up front. No point whatsoever in having a bloated squad just for the sake of it.
3-1 to Birmingham and the late third goal moved us back into the Top 6 on GD. Now we have to take care of business tomorrow
Another Cody Drameh MoM performance with Sky Sports man saying that man Drameh with the assist of the season. also tonight our U21s have knocked another club out of the cup in a 4-1 win against Andros Townsend and his Luton team. 2 more assists and a goal for Sean McGurk making that 10 goal contributions in 9 games. Lewis Bate also scored again and Charlie Allen again too.
Made loads of sense and in his opinion we have one of the very best strikers anywhere as his stats prove he scores more than average from chances. He is lacking in pace and doesn’t press enough. FARKE can teach him to press which will improve him but not sure he can give him pace. FARKE confident on his goals contribution
I think Farke will and is concentrating his efforts on Rutter rather than Piroe for the lone striker role. If anything they’ll work on improving and developing Piroe for that deeper role, I think we can forget seeing him as the main striker unless Rutter is out. Like you say, it’s pointless trying to improve him in a quality he’ll struggle to grasp if you can’t teach pace
When Rutter is out I reckon Bamford will replace him and Piroe will stay deeper. After Farke’s explanation it makes perfect sense. He also floated the idea of all three playing at the same time which would probably mean Rutter out wide.
I've not listened to Farke but didn't he imply that he usually has the golden boor winner in his side? Rutter won't win the golden boot. He's not clinical enough. Piroe won't win the golden boot playing from deep but he's more than capable from the main striker. I also think Rutter is more creative than Piroe and we're not pressing like it's prime Bielsa days anymore. It's great that he's addressed the elephant in the room but I'm a bit stubborn (surprise suprise) on this one. Piroe is a 9 and Rutter is our best 10.
Cant disagree Emu but FARKE is in charge and lives or dies by his views. Eire has posted the full interview on Rutter/Piroe and in fairness I can’t fault him an anything
Quick recap for those that can't be arsed to watch the Farke interview. " I know what I'm doing so everyone STFU and let me and my players get on with winning football matches " Gotta love the guy
Dallas & Alioski weren't left backs either but both did really well for us in that position and that was in the PL as well.
We got rid of 2 very promising LBs in Leif Davies to Ipswich who we know is doing great and topping the assists for the league last season and doing the same ghis season. Niall Huggins was also a major reason the U23s won everything a couple of seasons ago but we sold him to Sunderland. He was out for over a year with injuries but this season is going great guns and even scored last week. Wierd that we had a bunch of talented kids who are doing great for their new clubs, Drameh, Davies and Huggins but not seen as good enough at Leeds?
I think you'll find he actually said its fine to debate the point amongst ourselves but just to stop asking him about it as he's explained it now. At no point did he say STFU. Just for those who can't be arsed to listen properly to it.
Back on the Leeds fitness question has anyone any idea why Sonny Perkins hasnt played a league match yet for struggling Oxford Utd?
Yes he explained his thoughts very well but like you I don’t think you buy the best No. 9 and then play him at 10. However as Farke points out he’s scored 4 in 7.
