I’d say Tripps. Probs the best left back in the world IMHO and the best leader since Shearer. Still can’t believe what we paid for him and that he came to us. hope he stays on as a coach when he retires.
I’d have to agree that he had probably been the biggest signing since Alan shearer. for what’s it’s worth the impact and leadership is second to none. An icon for us now and one who will probably define this period. How we managed to get him is unreal. He also has made a massive impact on Miggy: he controls him.
I can't believe I'm saying this.... Longstaff. He allowed Bruno and Tonali to work their magic while he was playing the Michael Carrick role to perfection. Dominate the midfield and you win matches. He allows us to dominate.
He was literally the most important signing we made. Having said that. Longstaff deserves a mention. And how he isn’t in the England squad and yet Phillips is……. Wow!
when Southgate goes Longstaff will get at least one England cap. Screenshot it. It will happen. Southgate picks his mates no matter how badly they are playing … or even if they aren’t playing.
Southgate is a dick. He’s the luckiest man in football. Happened to get the job when we had an amazing pool of talent coming through.
Don't think it's a coincidence that Bruno's return to form happened when Longstaff was back in midfield - they seem to gave a great understanding
I don’t think we have one most important player. We have a group of 4 or 5 players who are all as important as one another. Longstaff is one of those. Trippier is one of those. Bruno is one of those as is Gordon.
I’d have to say longstaff as well, we just seem so much more balanced in midfield with him in there. On a separate note…anyone missing ASM? I’m certainly not!
On a serious note how amazing is it to watch the three we had in midfield last night and then have to remind yourself that Joelinton, Willock and Anderson were all back-ups? It's crazy how good some of these players now look compared to 2 years ago and there's zero doubt what-so-ever that our most important person by a country mile is Eddie Howe.
As the team are working so well together, it's hard pick out the single most important player. I regard Bruno as our most gifted player - when he plays well, we usually win. But all teams need workers - and four of our workers scored last night
Gordon is probably the best player at the moment, he's on fire. Important? Longstaff for his workrate, Tripps is a great leader, but we've seen Tino is an awesome stand in for him.
