well i'm 64 and quite chilled with the passing around now, compared to myself quite a few years ago...think we have to get used to this style in the modern game, bit like the snooker when the 'risk takers' went missing and the safety shot battles started people got used to it and began enjoying the safety side of the game.
Your wrong on O9, he completed more passes than anyone it was a record for him, jobe and Jack I agree, I didn't look at the other lads stats just them 3 players. So let's get it right. He lost possession on 4 occasions in our half and once in their half, which was just over the halfway line. I got them facts from one of our staff.
Im not wrong, i didnt say who completed the most passes i was refering to your comment about Neil giving the ball away. O9 gave the ball away more than Neil, yes he attempted more passes but he still gave the ball away more You always want to have a go at Neil, yet he is one of our most important players and arguably been one of our players of the season

Francie was really concerned on the stream I watched "Luke hasn't moved an inch since he has went down!" As soon as the whistle went he moved his arms to a more comfortable position, had a little chuckle to myself as Luke would 100% feign a head injury to out the brakes on the opposition attacking
Pathetic agenda you have against Neil. If we are going to continue to play the fantastic football we do now we are going to lose possession in our own half at times, and Neil being the midfielder who is responsible for often receiving the first pass out of defence will lose the ball on occasions and that is fine considering the good things that happen when we play like this heavily outweigh the bad. 'So lets get it right' you proved Scouts point and moved the goalposts on your own point. Stop the agenda.
I thought at times we were a bit sloppy in possession Neil included but if you watch the match back the amount of effort we put into winning the ball back was tremendous and points to a great team spirit and togetherness. JC tracking his player way back to our box after losing possession sticks out but the determination of players to rectify either their own mistake or that of their team members should not be overlooked. Yes giving the ball away is not great but seeing the determination to win it back is a very positive sign that there is a fight and a will to win within this squad so I will take the positive away from a negative point and look at it that way.
Players will always give the ball away, what i love about Neil (and most of our players now tbf) is they dont go hiding. They want to get on the ball again and try to make things happen Neil has completed the most progressive (forward) passes in the championship this season. Its brilliant having a CDM who not only wants to pass forward but who can actually do it There was a game earlier in the season, think QPR, where Neil completed something like 97 out of 99 passes and the majority of them were forward passes We will always have players we like more than others but i dont get the agenda Bob has against Neil. Dont mind him not rating him, that his opinion, but to say he gave the ball away loads when it was only 5 times is ridiculous
We play a progressive attacking style and in doing that you have to take chances with the ball I.E letting players get close to you before releasing your pass or by trying to split defensive lines, when doing this invariably we will cede possession on occasion but that is why we are a good entertaining team to watch and why we are doing as well as we are. Like I said earlier in the thread the way we hunt down to regain possession is as important as any other aspect of our game and is at times the catalyst for the crowd to get behind the team. Not every negative is totally negative and there are positive aspects to be thought about within our all round play.
There's a couple of things we all have to learn, as supporters. First, the way we play goes against virtually the whole of the last 50 years. Even the good times, of Reid, etc, were a totally different game with wingers, crosses and endless balls into their box. This is now carefully considered with players standing with the ball, pointing to where they need the recipient to move, etc, then speeding it all up in the last third. Secondly this actually quietens the home crowd especially when teams like Watford bring as many staff as supporters. It's not the blood & thunder football we've grown up with. Away from home is different because teams attack us more, their supporters are more vocal and we need to back the Lads. It's a learning curve allright
