Managers often say that sort of thing themselves. They go and spend ages watching videos of the game and then come back with a full understanding of what happened.

He’s obviously made the mistake of reading the comments on here and deciding to implement some of the tactics from the experts.

    Good.
Probably realised, or possibly was given a word in his ear, that it's not a good look to go blaming the players like he did, when the problems were largely of his own making with his selections and the way he set us up?
At least it confirms the fact (can we now take it as FACT?) that he dropped major bollox on Tuesday, as he seems to be saying as much himself.
Or does the point made by some still remain that it's just us uneducated supporters that don't understand and that because he has all the info & stats that we aren't privy to that he is actually beyond being capable of making mistakes that we think we can readily see with our own eyes? Can't have it both ways.:emoticon-0105-wink: That point / argument clearly no long holds any water whatsoever (not that it ever did)!
I still maintain he's naive, not 'all that' as some make out, too arrogant in that he seems to think he's got a unique way of playing that's bound to succeed so we just need to cheer & be patient even though he hasn't achieved anything whatsoever yet in his managerial career. And I still maintain that he isn't that good as an attacking coach, or at least if he any good we still haven't seen any real evidence otherwise and I'd ask how much longer should we wait? .
Hopefully his comments are genuine and he does learn & adapt.

Any injury updates? We're looking pretty bare again. Can't see many changes for Millwall barring SMac or Vinagre for Coyle.

I find this stuff so frustrating to read.

People make the most simplistic complaints about things that they've decided are the problem, every time we drop points. It's always this or that player was in the wrong position, or usually we played too slow. Sometimes it's pointed out that if it was that simple, you can guarantee that pro football managers would be aware of these very simple solutions too.

Now, Rosenior comes out and says he made mistakes. He doesn't explain it in loads of detail but he says it was to do with the specific way that they pressed us, differently to how they normally do to other teams, and how he failed to adapt to it quickly enough. And now people come on and pat themselves on the back and claim it proves them right about the hyper-simplistic complaints they made on the night.

Not one person on here had anything to say about Ipswich's different style of pressing, how exactly it was different to usual, how they handled our midfield two unusually as LR mentioned or what exactly we should've adjusted in our structure to compensate. Rosenior, after days of analysis, thinks he does now know the answer and regrets not seeing it on the night. Clearly, it is very complex stuff and it's this level of detail that managers have to figure out for each game. Inane complaints about getting it forward quicker, week after week regardless of what actually happens, or just putting a left-footer at left back, are miles short of the level of analysis that actually goes into coming up with these game plans. It absolutely is arrogant of fans to think they have all the answers because they can repeat the same cliches week after week as everyone else, or to insist that managers should do the things they suggest or accept scathing criticism.

Agreed , what’s missing is that an awful lot of that team did NOT put a proper shift in as a group they seemed to watch and wait to see if others did it. When we press you often see both Traore and particularly Connolly not doing it effectively so there’s always an out ball - you either press or you don’t . The whole team has to move together not leave 25 yds between the lines . The stick Rosie is getting is massive - the players have got off so lightly on this forum compared to the manager !

Good on him so as hoped the defeat has checked his ego as only a complete fool doesn’t learn from his/her mistakes.

I don't particularly think the players deserve loads of criticism either. We're doing alright.

Are you saying that supporters should not criticise a coach, players, owners of a football team.
    Just support blindly?

I'm saying what I said: that our players don't particularly deserve criticism, and since you ask, no I don't think Rosenior or Acun do either.

So is this because most of don’t have coaching badges so as supporters what do we know?

As much as we were beaten by a far superior, well drilled team on the night and they were very good on the ball, our marking and reading of the game was poor at best, they were walking through us with ease.

The whole point of this board is to add opinion and to that end, some criticism of the performance is absolutely justified in my book...

Hopefully lessons will have been learned going forward because that performance showed a lot of cracks in our midfield and defence, they need to be much more in tune with each other...

If everything in the garden is Rosie, (despite losing 3-0), and everyone is above criticism, (despite losing 3-0), there really doesn't seem any point in discussing it.

I think “on the night” is key here. There haven’t been many games in Rosie’s tenure where that has been the case and when it has (Sunderland away last season), we’ve managed to put the ball in the net at the other end to at least balance things out.
I for one, want him to succeed and I think most on here feel the same, so I’m actually pleased that he is shouldering the blame for what happened the other night. If he has learnt from it, and not just the mistakes that he made on the night but the fact that he still has a lot to learn, then hopefully everyone will benefit.
I know some suggest he’s arrogant and I can sort of see where that comes from but I prefer to think it’s just a strong belief that he has the ability to be better than the average manager. If he can add a level of humility to his locker and accept that he still has things to improve on in his tactical knowledge and ideas, then we could all be onto a winner. I just hope he gets the time to get there with us.
