This was seconds after the Schar goal and honestly the first few Newcastle players to get to him to celebrate are Murphy, Lascelles and Longstaff. Mbappe may legitimately be thinking - weren't all you c*nts supposed to get relegated 2 years ago? When you're watching the picture below you're in your rights to ask wtf has happened:
Waited 20 years to see us line up in the champions league again, Sons first ever champions league game and what do they do? Throw a ****ing massive surfer flag over the top of our heads
I'd also add that for everything that is going to be said about PSG being a group of individuals rather than a team, etc, their manager and many of their players went over to the away support (well as close as they can get to it SJP) and applauded the away fans - I think that's hard to do and deserves a mention when you've been beaten 4-1 but those fans have travelled a long way. Mbappe obviously was absent from that as he'd stormed off the pitch but most of their players were good in that regard and I'd prefer to see them doing that rather than simply slumping their shoulders and marching off the pitch.
@Bill S Preston Esquire started the rumour that it's because your face is too ugly for TV. Don't shoot the messenger.
They showed a kid with his shirt off in the first half. I'm beginning to wonder. It would explain the flag
This will go down well... The 2030 World Cup will be held across six countries in three continents, Fifa has confirmed. Spain, Portugal and Morocco have been named as the co-hosts, with the opening three matches taking place in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay. The opening matches in South America are to mark the World Cup's centenary as it will be 100 years since the inaugural tournament in Montevideo. The decision is set to be ratified at a Fifa congress next year. Fifa also confirmed only bids from countries from the Asian Football Confederation and the Oceania Football Confederation will be considered for the 2034 finals. Following that decision, Saudi Arabia announced it would be bidding to host the tournament in 2034 for the first time.
Its pathetic. 3 teams getting auto qualification for hosting a single match Makes it even worse when you realise that's 50% of South America's guaranteed slots. Said last year that Qatar will be the last decent WC. This 48 team bollocks will ruin it beyond recognition. The Saudi WC is inevitable. They'll host a CL final soon too and will even get some of their clubs into the CL I'd wager. Not that I care about that tbh.
Agree mate, it's coming (WC)... Qatar was a joke, but opened the flood gates. Not sure how they'll pass UEFA FFP and wages to turnover restrictions if they go for CL though.
So I assume that Kalvin Phillips, Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire will be in the England squad and that Longstaff, Gordon and Big Dan Burn will not (with Longstaff and Burn it's not even form, they were ace last year too). Not going to argue we have world-beaters as we don't really but it's fine when players are left out for the likes of Bellingham and Rice, some of the players getting picked for England squads haven't done anything to justify it for 12 months plus.
Also, I love that we have Dan Burn stood next to Keiron Trippier in our line up as it makes you question who the mascots are:
Even if he called them up, he wouldn't give them any game time. Just how he works. Bow to pressure, get them in the squad, not give them a chance. Done it time after time.
Southgate is a ****ing helmet. Sticks to over the hill losers instead of giving the form players a shot.
We are but sadly the cracks were showing, so it's the correct decision despite me remaining loyal to Neil Harris throughout a few short comings.
