There seems to be this culture, probably developed/evolved in the states, where people lie, or do wrong, then blame everyone else. They repeat their lies and then people start to believe them. Morals seem to have completely disappeared.
How has it got like this and when did it start. I moved down to Market Harbourer when we got married and bought a new dining table and chairs ( 1973 ) and the bloke just gave us a book and said when you come in on a weekend ( we lived 9 miles away on a farm ) just pay so much off until it’s finished. So I know it was after 73. The man didn’t really have a clue who we were. Anyway I never went back just kept the table and chairs <laugh><laugh>

all it takes is for the 'major' teams to say 'NO' which is exactly what they should have said to the last one, especially with it having to be changed from the regular slot to break the season up.

of course, money will see it happen and money will finish the sport...simples.

That’s probably the easiest way I can explain it

It needs a lot of major teams to say no, however I doubt you'd get enough solidarity to do it. The FIFA corruption case showed that.

Most of the South American federations have been run as the personal fiefdoms of various people (Havelange, Leoz, Maria Marin, Figueredo etc) where you only get on by nepotism and patronage and if you rock the boat you're squeezed out. Central America is similar, but has less high profile teams.

UEFA has its own issues, the French and German FAs have regularly played both sides against the middle to what benefits them the most, Spain has its issues demonstrated by the recent stuff involving the ex President, separate from their own weakness against the biggest clubs. And the FA? Weak against the interests of our bigger clubs and their owners, as demonstrated by the mags takeover, for example.

In the end even if, say for example, the FA and the Italians grew some balls and said no, I doubt you'd get much backing from France or Germany. And they'd be plenty of others happy to take our place.
