Good Morning. It's Wednesday 4th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Price 'annoyed' with retirement speculation over Dallas

Rob Price has hit back at the rumours predicting Stuart Dallas's early retirement following his broken femur 18 months ago.

Speaking on the official LUFC Podcast earlier this week, the Whites Head of Medicine and Performance insisted it was always going to take up to two years before the Northern Ireland star was back in action, and was annoyed with growing speculation on social media that 'Dallas was finished'.

Perhaps, if Marsch had not have said 'I think we can safely say it will be six months, but it could be longer' than fans wouldn't have been speculating that Dallas's career was over.

“Looking back to that day, it’s sort of imprinted on our minds,” “I don’t think that anyone has dealt with the injury that Stu had before. “He and Jack Grealish had a clash of knees and we knew it was really significant because it’s the first time I’d ever seen Stuart Dallas stay on the floor with anything. He’s probably one of the toughest players we’ve ever come across.

“Stu actually had a fracture in his foot a couple of years ago and he missed two days. He is that kind of player and he’s got the ability to block out pain and carry on. That is probably why he played so many consecutive appearances under Marcelo (Bielsa).”

Price admitted that the club had thrown a cloak of secrecy around the player’s recovery and that he was only willing to divulge the details after speaking to the 32-year-old midfielder.

“I spoke to him earlier today and said, ‘How much do you want me to mention about it? We’ve been pretty quiet about it. We released the basics and just carried on with the rehab. “We knew that this would be a minimum of 12 months, could be 24 months and probably 18 months. So we are getting to the stage now where it is around 16 months and a few days.

"He has made the next stage of his rehab to get among the team and start training. It probably annoys me and I’m sure it annoyed Stuart, though he has never said, that along the road you read things like ‘Dallas is finished’ which isn’t helpful when people just don’t know the true story.”

Borussia Mönchengladbach need to build a team around Max Wober

German media outlet, 'The Rheinische Post' are insisting that Borussia Mönchengladbach must do everything in their power to keep Max Wöber at Borussia-Park, and build a team around him.

The 25yo, an £11m signing from Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg during the January transfer window, became an instant hit with the Leeds faithful. He was one of only a couple of players who exceeded expectations last term, and was earmarked for the ER Captaincy role this season.

He had a complete change of heart shortly after the Manchester Utd friendly in Oslo, deciding instead to exercise the clause in his contract, allowing him to go out on loan, and two weeks later - he was gone!

The Rheinische Post describe Wober as 'a real leader' and have pleaded with the Bundesliga outfit to make the move permanent, quoting a fee of just €14m. The Austrian International tops Mönchengladbach's 'Whoscored' ratings with an impressive score of 7.05.

    Dallas suffers injury setback

Talk about sods law!!! <yikes> No sooner had Rob Price criticised Leeds fans on social media for preempting Stuart Dallas's early retirement, than Daniel Farke reveals in his QPR pre match presser that the Northern Ireland star has suffered a setback in training.

It doesn't look too serious though. The 32yo picked up a knock, and will be training alone for the rest of the week. After this, he will be re-assessed, before hopefully linking back up with the rest of the first team squad.

"Stuart Dallas has joined us in team training already in the last days. He had to return back to individual training so he'll be back in team training in the next days.

"Yes there was a little setback in training and for that he had to return to individual rehab work, but in the next couple of days he'll return back to team training. Again, it will last a while until he's back for team selection but it's good he's that close again. It's always good when he's back on the training pitch."

Morning all. You gotta wonder though what kind of player a returning Dallas will be. Apart from anything else hell be two years older than when he last played

Love Dalls and hope he still has something to offer us, but I’m a bit sick of some who keep banging on about how our dressing room needs Cooper, Ayling and Dallas. They did the same with Klich and Berardi before him. Unless you are a worldy I’m afraid most players at EFL level who are past 30yo are on their way out and we cannot carry passengers who will not be able to play twice per week, but are great for the dressing room

He’ll still be a better LB than Junior Crapo.

Dallas will be out of contract in the summer and so there will be decision to make about his future.

Hope he makes it back and we can extend but if he still hasn't played by then what would you do ?

Sadly unfortunately I agree. If we happened to make it to the pl, I doubt he'd cut it there this time around and if were in Championship he'd be a luxury we can't afford

    Afternoon all

Good news on Wober the better he plays the more he will be worth

Dallas, it's impossible to say whether we should retain him or not, Farke and the other coaches will be in the best position to decide

How do we know if wober has a clause in his contract to sell for a set price?. Nothing would surprise me contract wise.

On Dallas i think he is finished at this level. Doubt we will see much from him anymore. Such a nice guy but a stupid tackle. Maybe he will get a contract with lower league outfit.

If he had any sense he would have been taking his coaching badges over the last year as I reckon he walks into the NI job whenever he wants it

Lewis Pirie the young 16yo kid I mentioned at the weekend, scored again for the U18s against Sunderland and guess what 15yo Harry Gray scored too. Yes another Gray, Archie’s brother and believe it or not there’s another Cresswell coming through the academy too :emoticon-0148-yes:

Hopefully we’ve bumped up young Archie’s pay on an extended contract to keep the vultures from circling.
