I think Mowbray said in the presser it was about having the right people in defence and attack etc. So perhaps it is Hume, as he's been filling in at centre mid when in possession, allowing Jobe to get into attacking positions. With Hume missing and Seelt likely unable to do that, it in turn means Jobe is less able to get forward, which changes how we attack. So perhaps its that. Or perhaps I'm overthinking like always. But... if it is like that. We could flip it Man City and John Stones style. Instead of the right back moving into CDM when in possession, O'Nien could step up and Seelt could tuck into centre back. Then when we lose posession, O'Nien drops back and Seelt moves out. Easy this tactics lark innit
On the flip side you could ask, I suppose, which of our players aren't significant. Whoever is out I'd play Aouchiche even if it's Patterson.
"Eliezer Mayenda looks so exciting in training," said Tony Mowbray. "I was watching the small-sided game with one of the coaches and he is super-powerful and super-dynamic, and he head a rocket in his left foot. Mowbray predicts Eliezer Mayenda will excite Sunderland fans, as striker nears full fitness. "He's gonna catch a few people out when he comes on the pitch, and I think the fans will be excited at how dynamic he is. I shouldn't really say that because I'm building him up when he hasn't had a chance to show it on the pitch yet, but I'm just telling you what I'm watching in training: he's strong, quick, powerful. Hopefully he can do the damage when he's fit and available."
I like that all 4 of the strikers are very different styles with Mayenda looking like offering us out and out pace. More clever recruitment.
who is the key player out though for tomorrows game, why keep that quiet, we should still win i reckon 2-1 will do me. Need to get straight at them from the off.
A mere 6-0 just so my prediction is right . I expect the new strikers to give it their all and be a revelation. I can see Watford trying to take JC out of the game which will leave others to exploit their defence. 3 in each half hopefully. I would settle for a nervy 1-0 though. 3 points and no injuries would suffice. Cheers RTB another fab write up.
