There's an element of tribalism in all of us as football fans, but there are those for whom it's the only reason they're in it - it satisfies some primitive urge to be part of a group and create enemies everywhere.
Anyone who actually cares about the game should be fully behind LFC on this, because nobody is happy with the standard of officiating and the dictatorial nature of the authorities, and somebody has to pressurise them into significant change. Greater transparency and an overall improvement will benefit all in the long run, but they're too small-minded to see it.

exactly.

small minded and small clubs don't have the balls or power and have to and do take the apology and whinge.

then they whataboutery all over us doing something about it and whinge that nothing ever happens for them but oh look at the big club do they think they are special?

we need to make sure any ref who doesn't give pens against man utd are struck off

I do not understand is a pretty clear indication of exactly why a body so steeped in self protection and cover up needs to have its arm jostled into doing a proper review.

what lfc are doing is drawing out all the people who are in crowd and favours in the media. the second neville turned you could see he has been got at for example.

however the lfc goal here is not to "get a replay" or "get points" or even "sack the var"

liverpool was an actual real review and actions. the statement and subsequent requests including tapes and the Jones appeal are designed to force their hand in having a transparent review.

I'm sure most fans who are not blinded by bias are now fairly sure those tapes would make the ref and the var gobshites and the pgmol look incompetent l, panicked and then liars. if there was nothing there and a simple oh **** we got this wrong what do we do statement was there followed by a check of laws then why hide it?

you've already the many city stooge kompany toeing the line saying humans make errors etc. I'm sure if there were a reasonable tape that played to this it would be published.

in fact the ideal would have been an acknowledgement of the bad error and live on the day spurs allowing a tap in goal. can you imagine the kudos and start that would have been. that's not without precedent either.

Chris Sutton on 5Live is another Uncle Tom. He was wittering on about witchhunts on Sunday night, now he's come out full forelock-tugging and said we must move on and let it go. And check out Jacqui Oatley's X account too - it looks like we know who the BBC are throwing their cap at. Astonishing that as each and every but of more information is coming out, the usual suspects are rushing to Webb's defence, and using England as his human shield.

I have jested with the replays for fume value

Chiefly because we are being used as laughing stocks from fans

would love to have seen Pep had this happened to his team or SAF or Jose

However what I think is galling is how we have been fed since the inception of VAR that offside whether we like it or not is factual and cannot be wrong and yet here we are with quite a number of teams all seeing that this is not the case

Blaming VAR and fighting for its removal seem popular shouts

I think we should swap all the English refs to a European country where VAR appears in the main to be working complete with admin teams and see what happens

oh and this season should now be null and voided or a hashtag placed against the winners :bandit:

unless it’s us then we should be rightfully lauded <cheers>

Thing is, if it happened to Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, etc, we'd all be laughing at it too

Webb as the Richard Nixon of the PGMOL. Yeah, joking aside, there's no secret agenda against us (though the FA have never hid their animosity towards us since 1989), but this stank of lies and a cover-up the moment they released an image with no lines on it - I have NEVER known that, except (as in Wolves against us, and Saka against us last season) they have no camera angle to draw them and have to go on the on-field decision. Had they said that I would have accepted it (albeit fuming at their ****ing incompetence again - that just shouldn't happen anymore at Prem grounds), but the fact it festered on all game, then they said they'd make an announcement, and then that announcement took an hour (why, if they knew at halftime?), then you knew something was up. And when the statement came out it said NOTHING except a ****-up was made. No ****ing apology at all, despite what Ratboy Neville and Bumpkin Sutton are weasely claiming.

Don't forget, we haven't had one.

Made public as soon as the consultant audio engineers that Liverpool have brought in have inspected them, I trust.

I don't know which bit of my post-match bluster you're referring to but I've said that I'm loath to go down the corruption route without hard evidence. I did say that although I'm not one for conspiracy theories some things do make me wonder.

I still think that unless something significant is dredged up then the most likely scenario to me is them not paying enough attention to the job they're paid to do.
That in itself is culpable negligence and unacceptable under the circumstances.

You’ve been branded a conspiracy theorist by bumps now <whistle>

I've also said that I don't believe for a moment there's an institutionalised campaign against us, but I imagine there are a few officials who have it in for Klopp because he's always on their case.
I love Klopp and everything he does for the club, but really, being 4th official at one of our games must be a ****ing nightmare.
If I was the ref he'd be sitting in the stands after 5 minutes every time. :)

Yes and no. I had huge sympathy for Chelsea over that ridiculous hair pull by Romero on Cucurella not being called as a foul - we now know on purpose - but that's because I have no beef with Tuchel. But if they were managed by Mourinho then yes I'd be laughing.

An awful lot of this would have been avoided if the audio was broadcast at the time as it is in rugby union.
Yes, but they won't do that while footballers shout abuse at the ref because it'll be picked up and the telly won't like it. They already have to apologise if their mics pick up anything sweary from the crowd or the dugouts.
Rugby players are angelic in comparison.
If they actually enforce the rules about players approaching the ref then we might start to get somewhere.
