Apparently the dippers are now exploring legal options regarding the VAR cock up..

that would open all kinds of cans of worms for those teams (most of them) who have had bad decisions go against them.

they would also become the most hated team on the country surely?

it’s almost as if they want to be treat differently to everyone else…

well they did want to break away with the rest of the dirty 6….

    money money money….

I really hope the dippers do go legal.... we then trawl through ALL old decisions and kick them out of the Europa league due to all the points they gained from VAR.

There's an old saying Turkey teeth needs to be mindful of... be careful what you wish for.....

The whole fallout from this is nauseating.... it's still going on..... if it had been us there wouldn't be a single mention past Sunday.

Just when you think your dislike of Liverpool has peaked at 10, they find a way to crank it up to 11. Thank you Lord!<cracker>

You realise all this shows is that referees are constantly making incorrect decisions against lfc in real time right? <whistle>

You do realise that lfc have no where said they want to destroy var and get rid of it? Maybe that just helps your agenda against them for what ever reason.

Every single fan in the country hates var, hates the way it works, hates how long it takes. Yet lfc ask for a review in process due to the biggest cock up and every single fan suddenly is the referees best mate and think they’re just trying their best and should leave them alone.

If this is what it takes for referees var pgmol to actually show some transparency when making decisions, to ensure they are getting more decisions correct then it’s only a good thing and will benefit every single club. It’s not about getting the game replayed or anything else that some nutters on Twitter throw out there. It’s about making sure var processes are as good as can be and that referees aren’t hiding and just covering their mates ass ala Mike dean

There is a big difference between teams gaining/losing points due to VAR because the are stepping in to do their job PROPERLY, vs when VAR officials screw up.

VAR is a pain, but it can get some onfield decisions fixed. The far bigger issue seems to be the incompetence of the VAR officials to call it right, or to show the ref the correct angles, etc.

It's a toss-up between relying on one guy on the pitch getting it all right vs technology interfering and perhaps still getting it wrong. Other sports somehow seem to do a better job of applying video assisted refs.

Think part of the issue is that Liverpool/Klopp never say anything when the "wrong" decision goes in their favour.

I readily accept that applies to 19 other Clubs or however many are subject to it but it would sit better if Liverpool had said something about the favourable decisions they undoubtedly get.

Having said that VAR does need to be revamped, reviewed and transparent. But as the Fat Boy says ultimately it's the incompetence of the Officials which is causing the real problems.

I’m not a huge rugby fan but they make it work by the on field ref saying things like ‘is there a reason I cannot give this try’. That makes it obvious that he’s giving it unless there is indisputable evidence that he’s wrong.

Cricket has a bit of mixture where some is left fully up to 3rd umpire to make a decision (catches, run outs). But also have an umpires call where unless they’re 100% wrong it stays with umpire decisions.

Football seems to be in a crosshair where we don’t want to give full control to the var to just overturn decisions, despite 99% of refs going with var when go to the screen (my huge annoyance is when var takes 2 mins to watch a replay before sending ref over to screen - surely could be done at same time, or just let var make the decision) but we also don’t have consistent approach to what is overturned and what isn’t. The ‘clear and obvious’ doesn’t work as a lot of decisions aren’t clear and obvious.

Var has its uses. Offside, ignoring Saturdays one generally works. I don’t like people being offside by a toe, that’s not what offside was brought in for but appreciate you have to draw a line somewhere. My ideal would be a change in law where any part is level then you’re level and onside.

Try explaining to a non football person how you can gain an advantage by being your leg being further forward, even if you then come back onside to get the ball, beat 5 men then put one in from 30 yards. But you aren’t gaining an advantage by sending 10 yards behind the defence then getting your mate out wide to cross into you before the defence can get back to mark you….

Yeah, I think rugby refs telling the TMO their on-field decision and asking for any valid reason not to give it just seems much clearer than how VAR is applied in football, even though it's exactly the same principle.

And I also hate the fact that offside is one person's fingernail being half a centimetre in front of someone else's bootlace, based on virtual lines that still don't look right on screen. As you say there should be much clearer space for it to be defined as offside, it's currently a farce.

Never said they did. What I am saying is that Klopp is a whiney ****er whom I used to like until he started bullying referees, making out he can't compete with NUFC and our lack of ceiling (whilst spanking 100m on players) and moaning all the time about decisions which go against him... when he conveniently ignores those which go in his favour. Sometimes he should just shut his Turkey teeth as he's quite cringe at times IMHO.

As for Liverpool as a club, do I have an agenda... no, they aren't important enough to me. Do I think they are a despicable club who have lost a lot of neutrals when they tried to destroy the PL as part of the dirty 6 breakaway league.... yes. It's all about perspective fella... peace out.

Especially as youre relying on a freeze frame of when the ball has been passed. You’ll never get a camera good enough to be able to zoom in onto the exact point of contact etc.

But that’s not really a var thing. That’s a law change that needs to be made.
Get back to what offside was for - stopping goal hanging.
mane get back to what handball was - common sense deliberate. The whole ‘unnatural thing’ pisses me off as someone’s arm being up and out when sliding to block a cross is 100% natural. Having it down by side is the unnatural area! Get it back to deliberate and use common sense.

Must have misunderstood what the ‘be careful what wish for’ comment was about then. Assumed that was referring to var being a removed which linked to your post that lfc have benefited it from with overturned decisions more. Happy to be told otherwise if not.

Lost neutrals? Newcastle fans aren’t neutrals though. You support Newcastle and not Liverpool?

Also without going over old ground. You can’t moan about a set of owners who wanted to make more money… while celebrating your own owners. You can’t pick and chose morals here.
