Sheffield Wednesday Women's Supporters' Group have set up a GoFundMe to raise money for the Bradley Lowery Foundation, £12k so far. So they can't all be bad...
Not my normal 'sauce' of info but named and shamed them, photos of what the did... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...adley-Lowery-emerges-pair-crowd-brothers.html
A Sheffield Wednesday fan who taunted opposition supporters with a picture of Bradley Lowery has admitted a public order offence. Dale Houghton, 31, was pictured laughing as he brandished the image on Friday during a match against Sunderland - the team Bradley supported before he died of cancer in 2017. He pleaded guilty at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Monday. District judge James Gould described his actions as "utterly deplorable". Houghton, of Black Carr Road, Rotherham, was released on bail ahead of a sentencing hearing on 17 November.
I know it was a ****ish thing he did but I am not really comfortable with where we are going with this sort of thing.
Tend to agree Clearly a ****er, and if he’d been filled in by someone at the time you could have understood why, and if he’d lost his job I could understand why, but I’m not sure appalling taste warrants a criminal record? Might be more to it I suppose. I’ve only seen one photo
Having poor taste isn't a crime but incitement to violence is. I'm sure there are many folk around now who'd like to take a pop. Anyway, he might already have a criminal record...
Was it incitement to violence? The post above didn't say what the charge was. There was talk of it being outrage of public decency (or something like that) And then how far does it get taken? what if the referee takes offense to been call a blind bastard or a ****er, there are some female linesmen (I know) what if they get called stupid bitch in the heat of the moment? When you can't get plod to turn up after you have been burgled or threatened in the street is this where they should be devoting there limited resources? Edit Houghton confirmed his name, address and date of birth before admitting causing harassment, alarm and distress. District Judge James Gould condemned his 'utterly deplorable' actions and warned all sentence options were open, including jail. The court heard Houghton, a window fitter, had lost his job as a result of his actions and was facing a lengthy ban from attending football matches.
A bit of a difference between accusing the ref of being blind and mocking the death of a six year old child, he got what he deserved.

I think I read it was a public order offence, which is a blanket term for all sorts of things, including incitement to violence, and it does carry a criminal record. He's lost his job and he'll get some sort of punishment from the court, community service probably. That's deserved imo, but does he deserve a criminal record? On balance probably not but that's the way the law works.
