He's not good enough in tight areas and never will be. His decision-making is also poor. This is his level, he's not a premier league player and never will be, but he's a solid option at this level. Morton is 4 years younger and much, much better. You can see him playing at a higher level. The same can't be said for Slater.

    That is true

    That technical ability
You either have it or you dont

You can work harder and harder off the ball
    Work on positioning
All things to slaters credit he has done

But that extra level of technical ability
    He will never have

It’s really easy to stop the boo’s

LR needs to win more football matches with ‘his’ playing style

Once people see for themselves that it works, they’ll believe in it. You can’t ask fans to believe in it when they haven’t seen it work…at home at least

    Disagree

    Maybe boos would be acceptable
If the players just didnt give a ****
And we were losing 5-0 every game with the players strolling about

Frustrations can be a thing but how you can even think of booing this team is beyond me

You have to think though, the boo’s are most likely coming from the older generation not used to seeing city play like this and until they see it works they’re not going to be reacting positively to the risky play around our box and ‘boring’ backwards passing

I don’t agree with the booing but I can understand why it’s happening

We waste 10 to 20 minutes of every home game because we have to make sure everybody at the back has to have two touches of the ball before we think about getting near the opponents half. If we get the ball forward faster we will have more chances. Maybe we'll waste those chances as well but it's better than ponderously passing the ball from defender to defender in our own half. This is what happens in front of the fans. The evidence is obvious. Yet some people say it doesnt happen.

What are the statistics for passing in our own half?
What are the statistics for having the ball half way in our opponents half and passing the ball all the way back to our goalkeeper?

I dont know anybody who wants to 'hoof it'.
I know lots of people who want the ball to be passed forward quicker.

We will need different strikers then
And we will have to spend a lot more on them

Here's the thing. If you show that you want to just hoof it forward when under pressure rather than find the opening you open yourself up to teams constantly pressuring. The game on Saturday is the closest this season we've come to conceding from a mistake at the back and whilst I will accept it will happen at some point the pros far outweigh the cons. So many times we advanced the ball well but our issue can be when we get stuck with no options from movement.

Given it's 3 points for a win do teams still think like that? We dont.

71% of our touches came in the middle or attacking thirds of the pitch. So about what you would expect. We had double the amount of touches in their opposition box as they did ours.

As many have pointed out. This wasn't an issue of being slow it was an issue of not being able to put the ball in the back of the net

Which Oscar would have been perfect for.

He's supposed to be "not mobile enough"!
    Totally crazy.

Did people say that, or just that he's not more mobile than Connolly, which you claimed?

If he's less mobile than Connolly then he's not mobile enough.
Connolly has his qualities but I would think he's one of the least mobile players we have.
A few weeks ago a lot of people were saying how unfit he was.

I loved Oscar. For some reason he just didn't fit in this system. Arguably the most natural finisher we've had since Hernandez or Jelavic. But he seemed to offer next to nothing in build up

The club chose to send him out on loan. Now we have trouble scoring!
Lots of good strikers do little else other than score goals.

Just my opinion but I dont think Oscar solves the problem. We have the joint top goalscorer in the league and we just struggled saturday. Sometimes it happens
