That top 4 at the moment I think will be the one come the end of the season. In which order I'm not sure and of course Spurs always have their inner Spursy so it could all change, and of course Villa could also push for a Top 4 spot. Not sure Newcastle are going to be in it though.
Yeah get plenty. Opening game of the season Tonali scores and assists on his debut, was subbed at the end and claps back to the crowd on his way off. The ref gave him a yellow for time wasting, we were 5-1 up and he was walking off in the 93rd minute, he never stopped either he just wasn't running.
Refs have been asked to clamp down on all sorts of minor infringements and it's making for a petty spectacle where players are getting booked for non issues and coaches are getting booked for just being passionate about their team's performance imo, the refs should be as anonymous as possible during a game and just let it flow as much as possible. I get the timewasting thing is annoying, but as they are doing, just add on the time at the end. Or better still introduce a system where the clock stops when the ball goes dead. At the moment, refereering, VAR and all of the associated nob jockery that goes with it is becoming more of a spectacle than the actual games and that is ****ing up the beautiful game as we know it.
A problem happened at my lots game yesterday with the official, and although no one has mentioned it, I do see it as a problem with the new rules, in not being allowed to kick the ball away. A Mansfield attack was thwarted by a foul, the ref blew to stop play, and got the yellow card out, but Mansfield took a quick free-kick catching even the ref unaware and they scored - the goal stood! Now although in the rules it does say you can take a freekick, it's only if the ref has not started the process of disciplinary via booking. Rules: 'Once the ref has decided to caution a player, play must not be restarted until the sanction has been administered, unless the non-offending team takes a quick free kick, has a clear goal-scoring opportunity AND the ref has not started disciplinary sanction procedure' They can take a quick freekick but not if ref has started the cautioning, which he had from my view - card out, player turning etc So the lesson learned here is fook sportsmanship and the rules, just hold onto the ball or kick it away whatever the situation. Even without var we argue lol.
Agreed mate despite that var/ref **** show yday there's lots to be positive about. Looking forward tot the rest of the season and watching these new lads click even more in time. Any word on gakpo?
If pool can sort out their indiscipline issues out they could push City very close. Think we will struggle for top 5 as we are only 7 games into our complete rebuild. Only Bissouma started yesterday and the same fixture last season! Think a lot of teams will look at what Sheff Utd did and Liverpool did when they went down to 9 (narrow the pitch and do there best to stop us going out wide. We can't keep getting late goals so we're bound to start getting a series of setbacks. Top 4 (in no order) will be City, pool, arsenal, toon. Think Villa, Brighton might find Europe too difficult to get top 4. United will improve so we'll be in a battle for 5th with united, Brighton and Villa.
Looked like he twisted or jarred his knee planting his foot down after the goal. Those can lead to awful knee ligament issues
Fat Ange has got you playing decent football again, after the ultra negative tactics of Maureen and Conte. At the moment you look good for a top 4 spot, but it's a long season and you'll need to sustain it. At this stage, I think you're a bit like Newcastle of a few years ago, the fans just want to see you play attacking football and having a go.
Easy to forget this weekend but this is man utds worst start to a league campaign in 34 years. Ten haags ****e inhe? I think so
