There was a double page interview in The Times yesterday with him, but I refuse to link it.

I took the bait. Read it.

Same old, same old. My stats are the best in Europe. I am a humble man. I am ahead of my time. I am the fittest man in Europe. Blah blah

There was a time when the most amusing aspects of the Premier League was when Arsene Wenger perceived some injustice to his Arsenal side and would launch a tirrade of criticism against match officials when a decision was to the detriment of his team. For a while, there was no amount of satisfaction that an opposing team could have that could exceed getting one over Arsenal. If Wenger was unsporting enough not to concede defeat graciously, this only served to make victory even sweeter.

I now think that this has been replaced by seeing Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool been done over. If anything, this instance is more enjoyable because , for once, the off-side goal decision was incorrect and you could argue that the double yellow card was harsh. None-the-less, I think it is very satisfying to see Liverpool thwarted by a referreeing error for once and also to hear Klopp rant in the post-match interview with his eccentric mannerisms even more exagerated. Nice to see Liverpool to be the victim of a poor decision and even more amusing that this may have a consequence at the tail end of the season.

The VAR issue is fascinating because it feels like it was not the panacea to football as imagined and has simply added another tier to the decisions making process albeit with the aid oif technology. The controversy regarding decisions has still remained and the adding of technology has merely made some of these decisions appear to be perverse. I do not feel it has improved football but merely made the judgements often appear more eccentric as well as protracting the duration of matches which I am generally not in favour of. In this instance, I feel Liverpool have a genuine greivance but it is funny to see them on the wrong end of a decision for once. Extra points for the comedy value of Jurgen Klopp.

There are also bonus points with Liverpool because of how much of the media fawn over them and / or are ex players. This doesn’t get the traction if it happens in a game where it happens to a team like ours. It is boosted by them being a big team and title chasers and arguably one of the main rivals to another city win (which people are soon going to get bored with in a way that I think will be different to United as it is so much more artificial). But it is further highlighted by the media bias towards Liverpool

To me there are two teams in the Premier League that when injustice happens it is funny.

In fact the injustice is justice for the times that they have had it in their favour.

    Man Utd & Liverpool.

Normally I would agree but this one is so bad I can't find any amusement in it. It seems both VAR's plus Michael Oliver (the 4th official on Saturday) were officiating in the UAE on Thursday. Liverpool have absolutely every right to demand why they were on the game Saturday as they only flew back the day before. VAR may not require any physical activity but you still need to be 100% focused on the game and the two VAR's obviously weren't.

I find it funny as it happens to all teams, yet only liverpool and Man U would be given this kind of air time.

This is what I love about football. Thiago Silva now being booed for having got whacked around the head.

For a team that has spent a shed ton of money they are a team full of talented youngsters and that makes a nice change.

Also, they have a lot of England youngsters; Colwill, Palmer, Madueke, Chukwuemeka.

Always good to see. Colwill's development is especially important.

England should have had the bollocks to stop the game even after it had restarted. Better to go back and award the goal then to keep playing. I know the law says you can't go back when play has restarted but that will surely be changed now.

It won't come to that now. They will add in extra dialogue to the script they work from when coming to a decision. Q. What's your final decision
    A. Goal/no goal.
    It's quite simple.
