It's a very disturbing film but also very raw. A lot of the scenes are filmed in NY live with whatever's going on in the background so it feels real and down to earth and dark. I liked that.

Can tell Scorsese was doing something not done before.

Also the ending is not exactly what you expect.

Was that Oliver Reed's last movie?
Ain't seen it in years but thought Reed was brilliant.

Got drunk in a bar and they kinda made out after the fact it wasn't his fault.

I think his mate claimed that Reed was "practically forced" to engage in a drinking contest :emoticon-0136-giggl

They think binging at the weekends during filming finished him off

There's a couple of small CGI type bits they put in from after he croaked it to finish the film. He was bonkers, used to call his cock the mighty mallet.

Richard Harris also excellent. He was another piss head.

I came back from New York into Heathrow on the same flight as Harris. He was singing Land of Hope and Glory going though customs and gave me a wink!

    Will never forget that.

that’s why I don’t bother watching **** anymore……they just lose thy way and end up fanny farting instead of reaching a climax

I see they have done a series of Boiling Point which was a Stephen Graham film about a chef having a meltdown. Will give it a go.
