I didn’t see the game so difficult to comment, but I’m not confident with Dickie and Naismith CB pairing, too slow and ponderous. Even so at 2-0 we should never lose like we did. Very disappointing
I predicted we’d have a comfortable win, the first 20 minutes they exceeded my expectations and then someone or something turned off our switch.. Best 20 mins and worst 60 minutes. The subs made had very little impact in trying to get back into it imo.. we could have played the rest of the night and still not scored.
Sounds like we got overconfident, let them back into it and then panicked. 2-0 so early on in this instance actually worked in their favour as they had nothing to lose at that point.
We could easily have done the same against Plymouth, the difference being they didn’t take their chances when we were winning 2-1, we then got a third which killed the game. Stoke took their chances, it’s fine margins.
We were coasting until Naismith & Pring pissed about got in each others way allowing Stoke player scoring from range.. from then on, we switched off from our pressing game and reverted to playing the panic game!!
Spot on. Against an injury ravaged side, we are mid table at best. I don't understand why we should beat an Alex Neil side, we never do. Still 1For and Supcon are celebrating tonight.
Not at all, unlike you I want every City manager to do well. You and others keep saying NP is miles better than our last 2 managers, I’m not seeing the evidence yet after 2.5 years in charge. It’s the odd good game here, followed by games like today. Some may say NP is a bit streaky….
Not at all celebrating RP.. not quite sure why u would think that.. What’s sickening is, we are capable of some really good football, I’m not sure if it’s a lack of leadership/captaincy on the pitch but the manner in the way we switched off is very concerning.. losing to Leicester is one thing but the manner we lost this one is not acceptable.. needs sorting
We’d seemed to have cut out this type of performance, that’s the disappointing thing, we just have to learn from it, put it behind us, and don’t let it happen again.
We’ve said that repeatedly over countless seasons and many Managers Nige is at least honest in his assessment Bristol City boss Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Bristol: "We were mugged, but basically we mugged ourselves I think is the best way of putting it. "The start we had was very good and we were exceptionally positive throughout the game really. "It's was our own fault, I'm afraid today. Fair play to them, we have been up there at their ground on a number of occasions and mugged them, so I suppose that's how it is sometimes."
