I think VAR will step in after the 85th minute to secure the points for Pool

Spurs play 90+10 nowadays, so I am not sure
the Poool can hold against a 15 min onslaught.

    Richarlison starts! <doh>
No place for Gil on the bench....

Would have stuck with Solomon to be honest, but heh, in Ange we trust! :emoticon-0148-yes:

Richarlison starting over Solomon means Son is likely playing LW… neither he or Kulu are particularly great (or regular) crossers and we now don’t have a potent enough central scoring threat. Odd call, the wrong one too in my opinion.

Phillips over Dier on the bench is good though.
Donley in the squad too, well earned.

Shame Gil isn’t in but I suppose it’s probably a bit too early at the moment.

Edit: And if Son stays in the middle, what is Richarlison bringing over Solomon on the left? Feels like we’re just trying to play a player into form rather than putting the team first.

    Another interesting starting XI.
The manager putting faith in Richarlison to lead the attack.

As with the NLD, in"season compass" terms this game is a "free throw" ,
However as the result then was 1-2, no need
IMHO for the team to be too cautious or gung-ho.

When spurs have had chances previously to close the gap after the top teams loses, we tend to lose too.

    Getting nervous now.

Far too early in the season IMHO to feel so.

It is. Maybe not deliberate but dangerous.

The Poool are already clocking up the fouls.
The system is causing them trouble
(Spurs players are turning to move past the
    attempted press) .

    Who knows?
It didn’t look intentional, but was it reckless?
He went for a 50/50 ball and his foot slid over the top of the ball.
Don’t dare challenge for the ball seems to be the message.
Makes the game harder for Spurs ironically because Liverpool will have to sit deeper and look to okay on the counter, rather than play the open game which went before
