The Shrews have lost their last 3 games to fall a point behind us, although we're usually quite generous in allowing opposition teams to stop a losing run. Shouldn't be major changes to the line-up, but Watson looked the part at RB when he came on, so he might replace Abankwah who would either replace Hector at CB or go to the bench. C Campbell is due a start soon, maybe this game?

Yeah, I'm dreaming of an away win tomorrow, which is usually enough to give the home fans a nice three points. Surely we canbeat a team that has lost three on the bounce?

He’s a cheeky chappy ! I think it’s more to do with the meal worms I’m feeding him rather than the Charlton connection, but yes I’ll try and maintain our friendship <cheers>

I'm hearing Charlton have reverted to being crap in this game.

Here's hoping it's a game of two halves.

Second best in the first half, to the exten we were hanging on at the half time. Second half much the same although we are finally starting t cause them problems at the ack. But as it stands, the best chances have all been for the Shrews.

    Leaburn off.

    Positives
    • First clean sheet since 5th August
    • An away point is always a good one
    Negatives
    • We can't win two games in a row. Unless that changes we'll be in the bottom half until May 2024.

An away point was a good thing, although I was really hopng for three. But overall, three points would have been robbery. Yes, we actually turned up in the second half and had a few chances, but the Shrews had us on the back foot for the first forty five, including two great chances in stoppage time. Then there was that guy who shot from inside his own half which Isted somehow batted over his own bar, which would have had us all over social media for all the wrong reasons, as well as another two chances at the end of the match.
I've been trying to see our defence as having improved since Appleton came in, but the saves Isted had to make suggest our point was as much due to good saves/poor finishing as a marked improvement. And their keeper had a lot less to do. As for Isted, some really great saves in there, but also nearly got caught off his line (great skill from the Shrews player mind) as well as nearly being caught in possession on the edge of his own box - that could have been a red card with a different ref.
