Watford v Middlesbrough. WDLLDWDL is Watford's form to the start of an austerity season. Is Ismael doing well? I'd say so, however he is working with one hand tied behind his back in terms of squad depth and quality. Despite these constraints, a new playing style is emerging, and the players seem to be trying. Middlesbrough sold Akpom and goals seem to have dried up for them, leaving them not far below us at the wrong end of the prematurely forming Championship table. This is the sort of game Watford need to win if there is any hope of getting into the top half of the table. Saying that, Middlesbrough got their first win of their season in their last outing. Team news to follow: ¡ENJOY THE GAME!
A good omen hopefully! https://oldwatford.com/1989/09/30/30th-september-1989-division-two-watford-1-middlesbrough-0/
One of the Championship’s more experienced referees is set to take charge when Watford look to get back on track this weekend. Oliver Langford, who has been refereeing in the second tier since the 2009/10 season, has been appointed to officiate the Hornets’ game against Middlesbrough. Hristo Karaivanov and Bhupinder Singh Gill are due to be the assistant referees for the 3pm kick-off, with Lewis Smith the fourth official.
Good to see Asprilla start though. It'll be interesting to see who gets to come on a sub - I'd lay odds it won't be Hamer, Healey, Kayembe or Pollock.
Seeing as I received my refund pronto from Hive, I am giving it another go. Good pictures of the warm-up in progress.
