Southampton are in a bit of a mess at the back but I've watched them twice thos season and they look decent going forward. They've also had a week to prepare for us and put a few things right. They are in a bad spot right now but it won't last forever, they have some excellent players. The key to this game will be whether we can press them and pinch the ball early off them. If we can do that then they struggle to defend from there and we can hurt them. The flip side is that if they play through our press then we might be in trouble. Ultimately I think we have a better side and we are rightly favourites but I'm not convinced this will be the blow out some people predict.
Morning all. Been away for the last three weeks, but managed to catch our games, albeit via some very unstable internet connections. Great to see us recording some emphatic victories and putting a run of results together. Important to keep it going today and to maintain the new sense of confidence that Farke has fostered within the side. It’s a testament to the quality of our current squad that there are genuine selection decisions to be made, as opposed to the dark days of last season where the role of the manager was reduced to rummaging around to find 11 players who were fit, able or willing to represent our great club. As for today’s CB pairing, I’d say Rodon has to come back at the expense of Coops.
Can’t argue with that. Best performance of the season last weekend so bit harsh to change a winning side. Cooper brings the leadership and thought he’d have at least one of Ayling and Cooper in there. Expect Rodon and Ayling back in midweek with 3 games in a week.
Good call. No question that Coops will give 100 percent commitment to the cause and provide leadership. These days I worry a bit about him getting through 90 minutes without picking up an injury, and I always fear that he's got a penalty in him because of his total commitment.

I wonder if Rodon's been the subject of a disciplarian action from Farke, or if it's a 'why change a winning team' approach. Cresswell absent again. Hmmm.
