Ben Lee's analysis of the Plymouth game: https://ncfcanalysis1.wixsite.com/ncfcanalysis/post/plymouth-vs-norwich It ends with this sobering observation: "But aside from any positive hint of a new midfield combination, there can be no doubts about the nature of Saturday’s defeat. It was a capitulation from Wagner’s men, and an ironic one at that. The irony of the Plymouth defeat is twofold. For one, this was a team rebuilt with experience to prevent such an implosion. But perhaps most significantly, this is a head coach associated with proficiency in transitions, and this is not the first time in his tenure that Norwich have struggled in such situations."
Not sure if this belongs on the stat thread but thought this was interesting, we just need to get the ball to him in front of goal.
Not quite as simple as that, Suffolk. There's the little matter of conversion rate! Adam (44%) drops down to equal 8th in the Championship on that measure. Still good, but not the best (Albion's John Swift with a CR of 67%). How many of Adam's SOTs are actually SAKs ("Straight at Goalkeeper")?
Yes it is, though slightly skewed by one of his four goals being a penalty goal (37% CR, open play). If nothing else, I hope it helps make his lengthy new contract more understandable to sceptics!
Just read an article in which Darren Kenton likens Jaden Warner to Rio Ferdinand. His ability to read the game and his calmness. How tall is he, checked transferred Tec but no mention of height. Seems quite tall though.
Interesting Swansea view ahead of Wednesday's game. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...pectations-are-high-this-week-at-swansea-city
Good news, injury to Sainz not serious: "Yeah, he got a knock on his ankle. Luckily, it isn't a serious injury but it's quite painful and a little bit swollen," Wagner said. "We'll see if he can make the Swansea game but he'll be back in training soon. He continued but after the second (tackle), it got quite difficult for him. I was happy with the decision to take him off. It's part of the game, I've seen that he's able to take it on. Everyone else is healthy. Danny (Batth) played yesterday but recovered today. Everyone else trained."
Interesting that Wagner sees Gibbs as a possible striking solution: "Liam Gibbs is working hard to improve his attacking output as David Wagner attempts to mould the youngster into a striking option. Gibbs was used predominantly as a deep-lying midfielder by former head coach Dean Smith, but is seen by current Norwich City boss Wagner in a much more advanced position. The German has discussed former Ipswich Town youngster Gibbs as a potential solution in the Canaries’ attacking injury crisis, while his first professional goal came from the position at Blackburn in April." As Gibbs himself says: “There are very different aspects when I’m playing as a defensive midfielder compared to when I play as an attacking midfielder. I enjoy it. I like to get forward if I can, to add more goals and assists to my game. Especially if I’m going to be playing in attacking roles and advanced areas of the pitch. I need to start creating. That’s what I’m working on and that’s what I’m looking to try and do in the games to come.”
It's amazing how Jonathan Rowe has emerged from a few scattered sub appearances and hardly featuring in Wagner's preseason planning to become a certain starter ever week, scoring 7 goals in 11 games. Would he have got his chance if Sainz hadn't been injured? Naturally modest, he's also full of confidence as he said after the Coventry game. “I’ve always been confident in my ability and maybe the headers have been a surprise, but I’m happy I can help the team by scoring different types of goals. I am looking to continue this. This is not a fluke – this is what I am and what I can offer to the team. This is just football. I love the game. I’ve worked on it my whole life and football has been my whole life. It’s a part of me so I always try to look to do different things that will help me improve. Regardless of whether it’s on the right, left or at striker, the ultimate aim is to score goals and help the team win. I’m trying my best and I’m really pleased that I can score in different ways.” So are we and it's great that he's been called up to the England U21s, which should boost his confidence and hopefully propel him further.

Ben shows the challenges still facing our players under Wagner's tactics. It took Farke a full season to embed his tactics and then start afresh. Wagner hasn't had that full season yet and has had the added handicap of injuries to key players like McLean, Hanley and Gibson last season and Hanley, Núñez, Sargent and Barnes this season. The new players added in the summer are still less than halfway through the adjustment and for Hwang and Sainz it's even less than that. All of that means that Wagner has had to chop and change according to which players are available and then try to shape a performance out of that. Rowe's sudden breakthrough has overcome some of that, but fans have to realise that adjustments are still going on. Having Núñez back will also help, as will the return of Barnes when it happens, but these coming games will provide a real test.

So what you are saying is us lesser mortals have no idea what this is about. Thanks for posting this fact.
https://www.not606.com/threads/how-long-do-we-give-him.354640/page-43#post-17082344 [QUOTE="Robbie BB, post: 17082344, member: 1050341" Rowe has cemented his place in the starting XI, Fassnacht being the victim of JR's unexpected emergence. (Of course, until Sainz takes over that left-side position, both Rowe and Fassnacht could start if Hernandez is benched) [/QUOTE] Copied this from the HLDWGH thread... but I'd be more inclined to start Fassnacht up top with Rowe behind.
