What you have done is find ways to justify playing down Livramentos exceptional performance which is mental gymnastics.

The irony is many Newcastle fans will do the opposite, but I'm apparently ultra negative so I'm confident in my assessment.

 

Gutted I missed this one - had to take the Mrs to see Busted in London... still managed to listen to bits on the BBC and was bouncing around celebrating at the end but just looked like I was enjoying the show...

A real tough debut for both the bairns Miley and Hall! Sounded like we were infinitely better after the break (and no coincidence I'm guessing that Gordon was a HT sub) once they came off but valuable mins for them and they'll learn from those games.

Great win while managing to rest the majority of the squad. 4th clean sheet in a row bodes well going forwards, we just need consistency now, seem to have period where we are unbeatable at the back and then others where we'd concede vs a 9 man pub team. Delighted for Lacselles and Dummett at the back both take a lot of stick but give 100% every time they step on the field. Livarmento sounded exceptional and gave their wingers very little bar getting skinned once.

All in all a great win, drawing Manure away is a bit of a joke straight off the back of it but hopefully the lads will still be fired up from last seasons final defeat and blow them away again. Make it past them and its another QF and sniffing distance of another final.

 

Hall did a nice pass to Isak in the first half.

 

Seemed to get a bit lost once Man City started to dominate possession. Wasn't playing in his "correct" position and 1st game for us, so understandable really

 

He was certainly started there, but we had so little of the ball for that entire 45 that not a single outfield player was able to impose themselves on the game in a meaningful way.

He had a couple of sketchy touches, but we were under 45 minutes of pressure. Hope he gets a run at the weekend.

 

Big Dan Burn vs Dembele will be interesting next week.

 

So third round draw they got ours and Norwich's number the wrong way round and this round we have a mackem looking into the bowl before picking us out.
