He who would valiant be… Continue with a win Saturday 3pm kick off. You’re all singing it now admit it
Another big game, and an opportunity to keep the good start going and maintain the flow of positivity and excitement. As always, we need to be patient as a crowd. Ideally we score loads but realistically it might be hard to break them down, as it so often is in home games. We have to stick with them and support them if that happens. On the pitch, we need to have the same level of efficiency in front of goal as we did at Stoke. That's been lacking too often, especially at home. I think consistently being clinical is a big part of being successful at this level, where the margins are so fine.
2-0 City. Based on our away form, and Morton now getting a start, I think this game will be the turning point for our home form, and if it is I can’t see us falling out of the top six all season. UTMT
Alternatively the players need to kick on from a good away win, attack from the off and get an early goal then go for more. That will lift the crowd and create a great atmosphere and end up with a convincing win. Next home game there will be even more fans there, even more boisterous and an even easier more convincing win. By then we will be top of the table and there will be no spare seats to be had. Success breeds success.
Morton first name on the teamsheet Allsop has to keep starting too Beat the cornwall or devon or whereever it is pricks
Need to turn these home draws into wins, that’s three on the trot ,fine margins though and no game is easy. Hopefully we will do it. UTT
Whatever happens on Saturday we should see some goals. In their last 5 games Plymouth have conceded 12 goals and scored 13 which includes conceding 4 twice and scoring 6 last time out. Come on City lets give 'em a mauling. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas waiting for my first trip to the MKM of the season.
Ever since a Pillocks vlogger predicted us to go down, I've waited for this game to see us smash'em for 6, but we won't, draw 1-1 or 2-2. Considering we've got Ipswich on Tuesday, might be an interesting team selection.
Rosie could be tinkerman and some more changes - so pre match it’s ‘what the f***’ The question is which positions?
I've seen a few people respond defensively like this when I've suggested the crowd needs to be on good form and back the players. I really don't understand such angst towards our own players, to make supporting them conditional on success first. Winning or scoring goals is never easy. They might try their hearts out and be met with a sturdy defence. If we respond by moaning and groaning then we make it less likely that we'll eventually break through. If we're loud and supportive we can help them find an extra 1% or sap some belief from the opposition team. Too many times in the last year we've defaulted to miserable crowd mode as soon as it became clear we wouldn't be winning comfortably. We should know by now that that's really not guaranteed. Adjust expectations accordingly and do our bit.
Can't see many changes after a comfortable win. Greaves is out so McLoughlin comes in obviously. We've got a lot of quality on the bench waiting to come back in (Tufan, Twine, Delap) but I can't see Traore, Slater, Connolly or Philogene coming out of the side so I expect just the one enforced change.
Welcome to the modern world, it's the 21st century. Not my world by the way, it's just the way it is. Not long ago even Pep had to comment, issue a statement about fan negativity and booing. They hardly ever lose FFS.
We need to be braver/more expansive/more confident at home and really go for it. We aren't going to go challenge top 6 on away form alone.
