We tried a fig tree, died after about 5 years. Very susceptible to temperature changes and we never got much fruit from it. I would avoid.

Too late, I have 3 waiting to be potted, hopefully not as sensitive to temperature as figs

Like you,I'm not keen on fruit. We had apple and plum trees....kept dropping all over the grass, couldn't mow until I'd picked them up....dirty holes in 'em,maggot- ridden, sour as hell, used to turn to pulp in the bag as soon as I gathered them....****ing nightmare..was glad when we sold the place.

These will all be on the patio, good news, any fallen fruit will be eaten by my dogs, bad news, they will then go and **** all over what we have left of the lawn :)

They will be sensitive mate, just make sure they are well wrapped in bubble wrap for winter or put them under cover somewhere so the frost can’t get at the pots.<ok>

I’ve got them coming out my bloody ears mate, best year ever for size. Last year I made a load of cider tasted like a s hit and you can only make so many pies and apple sauce, that leaves a couple of thousand to get rid of <laugh><laugh>
    + there’s another 5 trees like that<laugh>:emoticon-0121-angry

    Make more cider!!!

Mine will be smaller in a 100 litre plant pot, but that looks very impressive
