Our significant contribution to climate change won’t be reducing migration. Someone tell them our waters are full of chemicals and excrement and they’ll stay in mainland Europe.
Nice to see The Met finally getting it. Anything voluntary and therefore based upon goodwill and good faith between both parties can be withdrawn when one party stops working in good faith. Putting the military into armed domestic situations to cover is a very bad idea. They're not trained for that.
This had absolutely nothing to do with whether the “victim” was white, black or an alien. The bloke tried to ram his way through police cars in a residential area according to witnesses for **** sake.
I see that nice Mr Sunak is refusing to dig up the beautiful northern countryside to put trains tracks down ... ... who says he's not doing his bit for the environment

Read this morning that Italy have alone taken over 133k of migrants this year, which is causing a massive rift between EU countries. He, they haven't got a clue or, just looking after their own.
I wonder if Ms Braverman has ever heard of Saudi Arabia and their 'death to gays' policy. 'Fearing discrimination for being gay or a woman should not be enough to qualify for international refugee protection, the home secretary will say. Addressing a US think tank, Suella Braverman will question whether the application of the UN's 1951 Refugee Convention is "fit for our modern age".
I find it all rather ironic that the two biggest proponents of stopping migration to this country are descendants of people who MIGRATED to this country.
Because he doesn't have to read - he gets all his opinions given to him by the dumbed down thirty second hot take he sees in his internet echo chamber.
Presumably economic migrants as are many of those arriving now. The British Empire is coming back to bite us now, as are wars we've become involved in such as Afghanistan ... ... there are many people arriving with possibly the same legitimacy as the PM and his HS. The government seem incapable of sending people home so they're just stacking up. We're not doing a great job of any of this are we.
I'm not saying we should automatically take gay people or anyone else for that matter. But, if Britain is now saying we won't give sanctuary to people in real peril of being executed, that's a fundamental change in our place in the world. This is all becoming a shabby and desperate pantomime of blame shifting and shallow practice ... ... it certainly doesn't make us look like a proud and honourable nation imo.
That is spot on mate. I’m also not saying that the volume of migrants isn’t a problem but we have to think more holistically about the solution. If for example there had been a natural ( or environment harm induced) disaster and we haven’t aided them and their infrastructure is ruined they come here and we pay out in boat patrols, making housing here. We have to invest in solving world problems or they come here and cost us here, but that involves sharing our wealth and that doesn’t mean taxing the very day person because they don’t have wealth.
Surely it's not possible that a Tory peer dodges paying UK tax then donates millions to the Conservative party and pays for Boris Johnson's wedding ... ... Johnson may be a liar and a fraud but surely even he wouldn't accept dirty money for his own pocket. The Bamford family have made about £10m in gifts and donations to the party in the past 20 years. Lord Bamford also personally paid for Johnson’s 2021 wedding party and offered the use of his own London townhouse and a cottage to Johnson’s family at below market rent last year. https://amp.theguardian.com/politic...-of-tory-party-largest-donors-anthony-bamford
