I didnt say that the people working at the store were benefit cheats, that would be stupid, but if they were all from the same place, maybe they're in on the scam, because it did happen i witnessed it.
you've just got to watch programmes like customs uk or whatever and see what lying ****ers most of them are, you know, those working cash in hand that you despise at the local chinky or indian takeaway.

My other point there was the £7. What would that buy these days?

The same girl said that her friend is breaking up with her fella and the housing exec wanted to put her & her 2 autisitic children in a hostel in Shaftsbury Sq in Belfast, were they send all the drunks.

On a seperate issue about foreigners, there was a thing in the news last year about a buncj of romanians getting grief in Belfast so they were getting a flight home paid by the UK government.

    What didn't make the papers.

My da's workmates husband was doing up the student halls in Queens Uni. The Romanians were put here until they could get home. It started off I think 14 people. They then contacted family & friends down south to say they were getting free grub, booze and accomodation before they get a free flight back home. I think he said over 40 or 50 folk turned up.

But when going in to refurb these dorms he said that before leaving they had smashed every window, kicked holes in the wall, shat on the floor and basically said "**** You" before leaving. None of this got reported in the media.

I am not saying scams dont take place. swapping a voucher for money is a scam which i know happens, at a loss to the asylum seeker

I have also said that cash in hand is the biggest scam for the unemployed etc. stamp this out and those in council houses with sky and a nice car/s would decrease. This isnt just limited to asylum seekers however

I dont believe the £150 voucher and change story. that is all

I addressed the £7 bit. Basically the CSA take a percentage of what is available but thats not all that the mother gets. The £7 just tops it up

Not sure how the system works in Belfast (if different?) but generally speaking the situation with the autistic kids would/should never happen
The only way that situation can arise is if its a temporary measure whilst sorting out permanent accomodation. Again though if they already live in a council house then they wouldnt/shouldnt be moved. The fella would move out

I dont know the situation with the romanians so will take your word for it

I know what your sayin about the kids gettin more £ I just found it astonishing that someone thought £7 a week would be considered a contribution.

But poverty exists everywhere and it's a horrible thing to hear about. My sis in law is a primary school teacher in a ghetto in Miami. She took the kids a few blocks away from the school on a field trip to the beach and she said 90% had never been to a beach in there life. 5 mins from their house!

Weird as ****. She was told that they when punishing the kids they have to say "You do bad you go to jail" rather than say "You do bad, you don't go to college."

to be honest I dont know where I stand with the whole contribution thing
On one hand I think parents have an obligation to look after the kids even if they split
On the other the dad can get a really bad deal and the mother can take the piss

Th epoverty in most countries is genuine enough, what gets me though is that (again depending on what you class as poor) in Britain the welfare system should/would prevent this but for numpties.

benefits dont get you luxuries, but the basics?

I don't know how it can be stamped out but it does my tits in to hear 3 generations of families who don't work and live a Cush life. It's a slap in the face for all us ****s who slog away at 9-5's or whatever.

I've said before to folk on the rock n roll. There's plenty of jobs out there, just lower your standards and take the £. Beats the bollocks out of £60 odd a week they get.

Even if I moved back to my rents house there is no way I could live on that £. An old mate of mine who used to love his gear decided to quit his decent job in Nat West because he couldn't be bothered anymore. Now he's just a hermit who sits in his ma & Da's house at 30 years old. Lack of ambition or just sad as ****!?!

The problem is what do you regard as the basics, once that is decided you then need to look at people who have more than the basics and ask the question why?

I apply my own experience of life to things I encounter and my own experience will never be correct for everyone. I lost my job 2 years ago in redundancy and it was one of the worst experiences in my life - if ever there was a situation that could make you feel usless it is being told by an employer than you are no longer of any use.

I applied for "any job, for any wage, in any country" after I was made redundant - when I say this I was not joking, I applied for absolutely everything, everywhere...

I eventually got offered everything from a job labouring in Belfast to trading Australian Horse Racing in Sydney - and from a bizare twist of fate that's how I ended up in Guernsey.

So my experience was that if you are not picky and are willing to move away from your wife and kids then you will find work - I now spend over 50% of my life away from my missus and kids and have to spend a considerable chunk of wage flying between my work and home.

And this is my point, if you are mobile and willing then there is work about - at least in my experience. But of course not everyone has had my experience or is as willing to do any job going.

Never said it was easy pal <ok>

its a struggle (even with work these days). Point is though how can you not clothe a child?
I know people on benefits through no fault of their own, yet their kids go to school and the uniforms are not provided by children in need
