Why do our players all have to be brilliant? Sometimes on here different members will give their opinion on players and many of the sunderland squad have been described as s**t. Yes, you are all entitled to your opinion and we all have different views of all of the players and would all pick a different team each week, but, I would rather see an interesting debate on the pro's and con's of each player than just s**t!!!

Elmo may not be the most gifted player, but he is a squad player who can cover at full back, has pace, can head a ball (sometimes), can cross a ball brilliantly and poorly, he loves playing for safc and always works hard. Yes, I too get frustrated with him when he takes on a full-back and then bottles it and turns back on himself and yes , like every other player, he can have a bad day ...... but he is not s**t!!

Of course, this is only my opinion!

Sorry buddy, put up against most other Premiership wingers he is poor. The man has a heart the size of a pea, not trait that will endear himself to most Sunderland fans.
One or two decent crosses a game is not enough at this level. I think he has actually gone backwards this season. Just my opinion like but he simply isn't good enough.

i agree with you i think he is alright!! just another scapegoat i reacon! at the bigining of the season when the team was pants he was the only one with the assist but was still the worst player in the world apparently...

course that is just my view..

these are all very good points even the ones defending him, yes he has talent, he has to be a pro footballer (i was a bit harsh in saying s**t). BUT... last season he looked much faster, stronger, better in the air, and looked capable of putting a good ball in at times. This season he hasn't impressed me at all. Everyone has opinion, this is mine, i think he wud be better in championship at a club like cardiff or leicester

The problem is, I really like Elmo. His great pace and good balls (no innuendo intended) mean that he could be a cracking player, he's so enthusiastic. I just hope he comes good.

The fact he is enthusiastic is hardly grounds for a place in the team, he should be enthusiastic as he is a pro footballer being paid a heap of cash. I am more concerned about his inability to beat a man, consistently cross a ball, get his head up when in space, his poor finishing and his lack of heart when the going gets tough. Nothing against the fella, he's a trier but just not very good.

    Elmo could run all day.

    So could Forrest Gump.

I'm still awaiting an Egyptian Beckham Style 30 yard freekick to curve into the top corner... I won't be holding my breath.

    Poor man's Carlos Edwards.

Tripping over himself and giving the ball away, typical Elmo so far. Hope he can prove me wrong and get in this game but I doubt it.
